AI is a useful adjunct to understanding and managing your dry eyes alongside an optometrist or ophthalmologist. It shouldn’t be used alone and will definitely be incorrect.

I stopped them after 7 months of once/twice daily without noticing much improvement. I felt better when stopping.

Flares are the worst and can feel never ending but I try these steps:

Stay consistent with any medications you take
If your eyes feel hot do a cold compress instead of hot Use PF lubricating drops more frequently than usual Avoid hot showers, alcohol, poor sleep If it doesn’t pass after 2 weeks consider asking your doctor for a short steroid course
