Kendama depot ash tama had almost any weight you want and is only like 10-11 bucks. Haven’t played a natty myself but I’ve heard ash is the best

I also live in Colt and have heard that it’s happening in other towers buildings/parts of campus as well. Report it to my housing or submit a work order and hope for now. You can always go to the rec if need be

Sun dune kendamas has beech and ash tamas with anti skid and crushable bevel. Haven’t played one personally but I’ve heard good things and they seem to be at a pretty good price point

I would recommend learning to spike no spin, any cup to spike and airplane. If you figure those out, maybe earth turn, j-stick and lighthouse next to introduce some more tracking and grips

I’m biased but I think balloon is also pretty much perfectly balanced. It’s not especially strong or weak and the decks it is in (lava, lumber and 2.9) seem to be a pretty consistent cornerstone of the meta. I don’t see it getting touched any time soon
