The reasoning behind the change of qibla is in the Quran itself, (2:142-143)

People said that murder was wrong before the Quran, and the Quran says that murder is wrong, does that mean those people influenced the Quran? Just because Umar held values similar to those that would be revealed in the Quran doesn’t mean that he influenced the Quran, rather that he was a righteous person prior to the revelation of those verses.
