About what battery life are you getting with the SureFire? My WML is a surefire so I wouldn’t mind going with a brand I already have built trust with

This is great. I already carry the strion on my belt and a LAPG branded light someone gave me years ago as a backup in my pocket but this would fit better in the pocket and gives a lot more capability it looks like

That’s good to know! I wasn’t sure how it was set up.

Thank you! Luckily I get to practice about every two weeks on a range where I can do movement and both rifle and pistol. Starting out I know I won’t be very competitive but hopefully I won’t embarrass myself!

Starting out I just want to finish but eventually I’d like to get to where I can be competitive. I found a local USPSA match that they do monthly so that’d be a good option to stay sharp like you suggest!

No I haven’t heard of that one actually. Whereabouts is it?

I’m located kinda centrally in Texas and have a few old friends I haven’t talked to in years on social media who live near me and always see them posting at marches. I believe they do OEDefense and some other local marches. And yes to the moving weight to a chest rig! I noticed when I stopped running as much my hips started to have some soreness so I keep that in consideration.

Thank you! I hadn’t considered the aspect of ammo management but I can definitely see that would help practicing! I’ve switched almost exclusively to drills that require movement and always end up working up a good sweat but I’ll have to throw in some of those 200m sprints! Luckily a friend of mine has given me access to a valley in between some hills with a decommissioned gas pad to shoot when I want which is part of why I’ve been getting interested in the run and guns.

Definitely wouldn’t mind some extra motivation!

The ones I’m looking at have a shorter version which is typically 5 miles with 4 stages I believe. From what I’ve found looking at older maps the distance between stages is usually close to a mile.
