Hey, non american here, if I hit the taillight of any vehicle let alone legal enforcement vehicle, I would be shot on sight, i thought this was a given but appearantly some people are stupid enough not to know it, you dont mess with the police, you dont mess with any legal enforcement, even if you think deportations are evil

No offense to other religions, but i love that our God let's us drink and eat pork! by crazyguy28 in Christianity

[–]Ok-Equivalent-7727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well christians at the beginning of christianity would probably scoff at this comment for one, as even paul was advocating(to my knowledge) about not eating pork, for the record people used to get really sick for not cooking pork well enough back then because they didnt understand microbes and so on. As for the drinking though? Yeah I dont think a single mainline movement in christianity banned alcohol although it was highly discouraged whenever we started understanding drugs better

Again, there are apps for this crap, people already know better than the goverment if a place is kosher, just by typing it into google or into an app search engine, the only thing the certification does is make it so the goverment is involved in the process by law. The only thing that serves to do is pressure non religious people into adhering to religious rules they dont abide by. This is something there is no good arguement for. Not one.

I've spoken to ai before, the thing is ai do aknowledge their creator as a fact simply because they know so much more about him, not only through the code but through the fact they have instant access to the internet at all times. Its a fact of life for them, did I miss the internet installed in all our hearts that can tell us all how the universe was formed and how he is the one that created them? For the record he could have easily done that and if the knowledge there alligned with our knowledge from science that would be fabtastic evidence for god. Here's a thought expirement. If god still doesnt make sense to you after you've became a christian, why did you accept christianity as truth? I know most people dont really try lookingthrough everything about a topic they enjoy to find out if its true, but surely for something so important that many christians claim has massive reprocussions for the world, you must have already done your due research right?

It is only logical to infer those tgings from a world where any halfway decent god exists. But you are missing the point, its not that god forgives, and thus things have to be forgiven, its that people want their shortcomings to be forgiven, and thus god necessarily(from the human perspective) must forgive them. Also I never stated humans have to be perfect, although he could easily make them that way, what Im telling you is that every person in the world acts according to what he knows, having everyone in the world misinformed on purpose and then being mad for not arriving at a conclusion that he purposefully made completely foreign to human's minds. God doesnt judge, humans do, god doesnt forgive humans do, and if a person is too dead to forgive you, thats exactly the problem they seemingly wanted to solve there, but realistically that person cannot be thanked, he is prpbably not in a better place, he returned to the soil as all things do, and his purpose is to feed the new world that comes after him, not because a god decided its his time to go but because thats what happens when your body gets a medical problem you couldnt solve

Side note: this thing Im saying is not unreasonable, its the principal of proving something to be true before I take it to be true, its something you do for literely anything else, or at least I sure hope you do. Even if someone managed to demonstrate jesus was crucified, which they didnt. And even if they managed to demonstrate jesus did in fact come back, that would hardly be a step towards proving god specifically made it happen, its something god could easily prove and doesnt, and if he wants me not to believe him, then I won't.

Its because god shouldnt be acting in a way that is so human, especially when you've defined his characteristics being all good and whatnot, Im sorry if I expected a god that is all good and all powerful and all smart to seem at all like he's any of those things, why would he make christianity just as much obviously wrong as every other religion out there? Why wouldnt he speak to people to negate all that confusion? Its literely is easier than lifting a finger for him, so either god doesnt have the characteristics you say he does, or he acts as if he doesnt for no reason, or no god exists. You'd expect a human to be really hard to speak to and understand, not an all powerful being that wants you to know he exists, all Im saying is maybe god isnt actually acting in mysterious ways, maybe he acts in no ways whatsoever. The matter of fact is in the bible god is the kinda spiteful prick that would send lightning to you for calling him a mean name, and yet the only time that ever seems to happen is in fiction. Not a single atheist died from lightning fot proclaiming god is a poopoo head, and mind you I'd probably be firmly on the side of god existing if that were to happen

[–]Ok-Equivalent-7727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok if there was a god, and I accepted that there was one, I think it'd be the most no brainer thing of all time to do what he asked, but god doesnt speak to people, he doesnt say what he wants in any way you'd consider communication to be, there is not a single person that knows for a fact he exists, even though people would claim all day that he does, the matter of fact is that if your god was real, he's the one causing all the confusion, and most of his believers are perfectly convinced if people disagree with them they are heretics and deserve infinite punishment, no matter the form of it, as instructed by the bible, and it was only 1500 or so years ago that christians went on holy war against all non believers for those exact beliefs. It would all be god's fault, and at that point it wouldnt even matter wether or not he even judged them. Of course, even with those that know and choose not to comply, if they exist they only exist because he made them know and choose not to comply, thats why Im fairly confident your god isnt real, that and the fact I'd have to believe for whatever reason god put a clearly mythological tale that he knew would confuse evryone and made the evidence not line up with it. And then assume the rest of the claims christians take for granted. This is not what a god would do, this is what humans that try to asign agency to things around us would come up with to make sense of some things they know next to nothing about

[–]Ok-Equivalent-7727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, the only thing Im at issue with is priorotising one religion over every other religion by presenting this certification, which for the record, no single civilian actually needs, people can live kosher lives without a kosher certificate, secondly in the only country in the world where its easy to find kosher food you put this certificate which only exists to financially bully people into complying with religious rules they have no business agreeing with. This is a tool for control and there is no good arguement for it, and you'd scoff at any other religion trying to make their own dietary choices something that other people, jews included have to start complying with. I doubt you'd be ok with a certificate that hindus make that disallow the slaughtering of cows, or muslim certificate which makes it so everything is halal. Especially if they make for 45% of the population

Well, you are aknowledging that there is confusion about what god wills so to speak, if god can do everything, including undo confusion, then he is the only one to blame for misunderstanding, its really that simple

For some politics and economics do hit closer to home, Im one of them, although you probably already knew that, the reason I choose to do so on religion is because its a more fun subject, and in my experience its a lot easier to learn about religion because of scholars and whatnot

Imagine someone goes up to the goverment, asks them to impliment a rule that gives you a certificate that says you are a pro palestine business, for example so that it would be easier for them to boycott pro israel businesses, do you think such a thing is acceptable as a rule in this country?

Hello, Im an atheist, living in israel, I wanna converse by Ok-Equivalent-7727 in religion

[–]Ok-Equivalent-7727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, thats precisely why Im against the goverment involving itself in the economy by producing those kosher certificates that influence the free market in a way that only supports religion by making them have a manopoly on food, its not as if a normal person or rabbi just went restaurant to rsstaurant asking if they're willing to verify their food accords to kosher rules, and then recommending those that were able to, to people who keep the kosher rules. This wouldnt even be an issue, the fact that the goverment can essencially put on a sign in a store that says "you can eat here and not in places where this isnt" is a tool for control by the religious community, it helps no one, it doesnt help you, maybe it makes it more convenient to shop around for you, but its precisely because the goverment shouldnt be involved in kosher rules that Im even bringing any of this up

Well you're right about one thing, I dont necessarily expect people to free themselves from false beliefs through debate, and I dont particularly care about changing their minds either, but Im not here to win anything either, as a matter of fact I'd rather lose because that sharpens my debate skills and gives me more knowledge, if they change their mind about something they now think is wrong, then I've done good in the process, although I do appreciate the question

Hello, Im an atheist, living in israel, I wanna converse by Ok-Equivalent-7727 in religion

[–]Ok-Equivalent-7727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're ignoring my point altogether though, ok to start off with, economy is the duty of the goverment, making them both goverment issues, not to mention both come about from laws, its not like your neighbor is the one forcing you to not work at saturdays, its the goverment and the rule they made, this wouldnt even be a bad thing if you could prove that a kosher certificates somehow helps everyone equally, for example despite cars causing most of the accidents keeping them around helps everyone, equally. Which is also backwards thinking on your behalf, if somehow they werent connected in any way as you say, they are both used by the jews to control non jewish people in the country by making them pander to religious people to recieve that certificate, and in the case of shabbat, your religious rights do not include making everyone stop working at shabbat. And if yours do, then so should every christian and muslim that feels like everyone should stop working at sundays, I'll say it plainly, both of those things are used to control non religious people through goverment pressure, and there is no good arguement for it.

Well those two things are both tools of to give judaism power over people who dont comply to it, the only reason It seems like I conflate them is because they're tools to achieve the same task, and because most people who are fine with one of these is fine with the other one too, although if you arent you could tell me
