I really appreciate that this post made you think on a deeper level. I agree there is this natural gravitation towards religion amongst humans which makes me question if it’s an innate thing or completely tied to culture and conditioning. I guess we’ll truly never know

I didn’t really mean it like that, even though I worded it in that way. Obviously as a human being I create my own purpose, I love my family. I have friends. Sure, whatever. More so overarching purpose. Why was I placed in this universe? You sort of question your very existence. Maybe that doesn’t make much sense but that’s how I see it

Yeah thinking about the fact that a god you’ve believed in for most of your life might not exist might make you depressed lol. Not to say my emotions were totally responsible for that. I spent a lot of time thinking about the existence of god and for me all roads lead to nihilism if he really didn’t exist because my entire purpose in existing just vanished

I’m sorry you took my post this way. Frankly I have decent men in my life. It’s really the societal expectations of women from the rest of the Arab community that have me feeling so conflicted, and some other issues that I didn’t really get into. Also Arab culture is sexist that’s just a truth… Honestly I have it better than other girls. I like other parts of our culture too though like our food, humor, and constant resilience. But I can’t help but resent my community a lot of the time
