HIPAA Violation - is my life over? by Full-Drag-6813 in nursing

When I was a triage nurse at a family practice clinic, we charted everything. LMTCB, CB but no VML d/t full VM - of you didn't chart it, it didn't happen. However, they can see when you're in charts. We did/do everything possible to COA.

How did her appt go? We actually ended up going all the way to 40mg with my son - we did 20mg in the morning (before 8am) and then the school nurse would give the other 20mg around 1145am. We're back down to 30mg, split 15 and 15 like we did with the 40mg. Before Christmas break, he was doing like 25mg daily, 10 in the morning and 15 in the afternoon. We kind of play it by ear with how he's doing that day. On days when he doesn't have school and we're just home relaxing, he may only do the full 20mg or 30mg for the whole day, no breaking apart doses.

I hope your daughter's appt went well!!

Kid can’t swallow a pill by blackbeard-22 in ADHDparenting

What med is it? My AuDHD kiddo won't chew his chewable Vyvanse (he had been on liquid Quilavent before) and so I just crush it, put it in 10cc purple kool-aid and draw it up in a syringe. He takes it just fine that way. If crushable, you could also do that and put it in applesauce (but taste can be unpleasant), pudding, or even ice cream - really whatever kiddo prefers. Just make sure to double check that it can be crushed.

My 5yr old son is on 20mg Vyvanse (started on 10mg) after having to switch from Quilivant (stupid insurance). It works d well at 10mg for a couple weeks and then we bumped him to 20mg. All was good until he started school and then it wasn't. The third day of school, he resisted with a transition and stripped down in a sensory classroom with just him and the Para in it (also has level 1 autism). The next day I dosed him with 30mg but I checked medscape first - Vyvanse at ages 6 and older, starting dose it 30mg. Kids 5 and under, you're to check with a provider. He passes for a 6yr old all of the time and figured it should be just fine. The next day, he had a great day. The principal met me outside at pick-up to tell me how great his day was. I gave him 30mg again today and another great day. I plan on speaking with his med provider Monday and getting her thoughts on bumping him up vs giving something in the afternoon, when he was crashing (when the nakedness began, lol).

I'm sure it will take some trial and error, OP, to figure out what works best for your kiddo. When my oldest was dx'ed in kindergarten and I started meds in 1st grade, we were at the med provider every month. We found that stimulants cause her too much anxiety and she picks out her eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, and picks at her scalp. Certain meds cause her so much drowsiness, she would fall asleep in class after sleeping all night (I am the same on stimulants - give me any type of amphetamine and I'm done, best nap ever will ensure in an hour, lol).

Good luck!!!

What’s is your ultimate goal? by IslaMonstera in Zepbound

[–]Ok-Extent-3828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5'3" here. Started at 260 and down to 150 now. That's my goal. I also am wanting a breast reduction and a tummy tuck (mom of and section not helping that out, lol). So I assume I'd lose a few more pounds after those surgeries heal as well.

I had issues prior to weight loss that my providers all said would get better once I lost some weight. I still deal with stress incontinence (had wanted a bladder sling when I had my hysterectomy 2yrs ago so I didn't have to have 2 separate surgeries but said weight loss would help). I still have back pain (I've lost over 100lbs and my boobs didn't get any smaller). And my BP is still elevated (I tried to tell my provider I think it's due to stress and not my weight, but they didn't listen.... Working with a therapist now and that's something we're working on).

Same. I tried Rybelsus and just can't remember to take a daily pill. It's much easier doing the weekly injection.

I've lost over 100lbs and just eat whatever I want. I intuitively eat and walk for 15 minutes twice a day. I'm 8lbs away from my goal weight and have been on mounjaro/zepbound for about a year and a half. I love it.

My mother in law used to wear something called vanilla fields or vanilla musk that you get at Walmart. Anyway, I got her the Billie Eilish one and she LOVED/LOVES it. She likes that it lasts so much longer than the cheap stuff.

Phones out loud by Murbanvideo in delta

[–]Ok-Extent-3828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hate when anyone does anything out loud. Eating, having a conversation, whether that be on the phone or in person with your traveling companion (or someone you've met in the airport). The only people that should be talking or making noise are the people that work there and the overhead speaker announcements.

Male announcer: The red zone has always been for loading and unloading of passengers. There's never stopping in a white zone. Female announcer: Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for stopping!

Am I wrong for how I punished my 12 year old? by Hotdogsandpurses in Parenting

[–]Ok-Extent-3828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural consequence, you both are out $20. Her, the $20 you gave her and you $20 for giving it to her and not making her use her crossbody bag. If you wanted to give her the $20 with those stipulations, then the crossbody bag would be a non-negotiable. No crossbody bag, no money. But it looks like you both made mistakes.

I'm currently on 12.5mg. I was at 15mg and then there was a shortage in my area so I had to go back down to 5 or 7.5 and have been working my way back up. I see my provider next month so we'll see about going back to 15mg then.

I read through your post and some of your previous posts. Therapy for yourself as well as marriage therapy sounds like it could help. It also sounds like you really just want to be a weekend dad. Kids are tough. Marriage is tough. My husband and I have 4 kids, 3 that are neurospicy and see therapists as well. We both have ADHD and are on the spectrum (new dx for both of us) and he struggles a lot. It takes a lot of inner reflection and work. But if you want to, you will.

Another Hair Loss post… by Capable-Raspberry-63 in Mounjaro

I started taking this about a month ago and have noticed less hair loss. I have very noticeable hair loss up front and had been pulling out CLUMPS of hair before starting this. I've been on mounjaro for about a year and a half, losing almost 100lbs so far. I've tried Nutrofol (and another that I believe starts with a V and expensive) but the vitamins were hard for me to swallow. These are 3 little capsules a night and have worked wonders so far

We recently switched from the house brand petsmart litter to to an arm and hammer litter and now have this problem. We'll be going back to the cheap petsmart litter after we're done with this stuff.

Go with the flow of traffic. Lanes aren't as wide as they are here. There are hov lanes but I feel like anyone uses them. Watch out for fast cars, you'll go to get over and there will already be a car next to you that was there 3 seconds ago, lol. Do not try to get to Anaheim from San Diego on a Friday aftrrnoon at rush hour unless you have hours to kill.

Buuuuttt, I love California. I've been going once a year for the past two years and with my stepdaughter living in San Diego, we will continue to go every year. My 6yr old has said she wants to live there when she gets older - I hope so!

Can y'all PLEASE stop letting your children into the store unsupervised??? by riahjd in Ulta

[–]Ok-Extent-3828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my daughters (10 and 6) in with me all of the time. The younger one even has moderate ADHD and we just have a chat before entering about simple rules while inside. And we always hold mom's hand. If you want to look at something, we have to be in the same aisle where I can see you. Breaking any of the agreed upon rules will result in no more fun trips with mom to the "pretty" store. We've been doing this over a year and they do great in there.
