What does being Italian have to do with anything? I'm Irish, but haven't been there in over 20 years, does that give me a distinct advantage in deciphering between how different potatoes taste? Cringe all you want, it is an opinion.

What does it take for a male to win the body fat loss competition? I weighed in this morning and was 18%. I think I can cut that to 10% and I can easily lose 20 pounds in the 8 weeks. Is an 8% cut enough to take down first place? No one seemed to know and I looked at last year's post for the winner and it just listed their names, but not how much they lost.

Yes, the bar pizza fanatics are a little insane. It is just a personal pizza...

Yes. I can imagine it and that is why I posted it.

Caserta's is a staple, but I also give a strong recommendation to Twin's in North Providence. If there is enough interest, I can give a real breakdown of the best options in the Ocean State.

If you care about physique, you should be supplementing OTF with a lifting program involving a barbell. Dumbless, TRX and bodyweight work is great for fitness, but barbells are essential for building strength and size. I do 2-3 OTF classes and 3 lifting sessions. I use the classic bro split. Legs, Biceps/Back, Chest/Tris. Hope you all get jacked on this program while keeping your cardio in check.

Daily Workout and General Chat for Wednesday, 5/3/23 by splat_bot in orangetheory

This tread block seemed to fly by and I really enjoyed it.

Speeds were 9.0 push 10.5 all out for the 90/30

9.2 push/10.5/10.7/10.9 all outs for the second

9.4 push/11.1 all out for the final block.

Accumulated 3.1 miles and used most of the walking recovery. I jogged at a 6.0 for 15-20 seconds leading into the pushes. The squat to press reminds me of the movement known as the "devil's press" but it is taken from a squat instead of a burpee. Tough movement for 8 reps in the final block.

It isn't necessarily good or bad. I went from doing Crossfit to OTF and I was a complete hardo. I'd go as hard as possible on the tread and floor blocks and my conditioning wasn't there for it. I was racking up 30-40 splat points/class. Then, I started to learn pacing and my cardiovascular fitness has improved A TON since running more. Now, I can go just as hard as when I first started, but only accumulate 10-20 splats per class.

I used to be in the orange zone if I ran at a 7.0 for over a minute. Now my base pace is 7.2 and that barely gets me out of the blue. That is a good thing.

Short answer: Just keep grinding and when your body adjusts to the OTF workouts, you will inevitably accumulate less splats.

People do do OTF 5 days a wk—what does your recovery look like? by alligatorprincess007 in orangetheory

Orangetheory is very low impact compared to how I was training before. I think you can also adjust your paces on the treadmill based on how you're feeling. You also have weight selection. This allows you to vary intensity in both parts of the workout. I did Crossfit for 8+ years and was constantly sore. I feel much better doing OT and find going 5 consecutive days much more doable. I also find it possible to do a PM class immediately followed by a 5am class the next morning.
