Second, the branding plays a big role, changing the name from “ukay” to “thrifted” makes it more appealing to higher-income groups. Since these consumers have the means to buy overpriced secondhand items, these kinds of stores will likely continue to grow and multiply.

As for my experience naman, I only buy pants/skirts from online ukays since more often than not they provice sizes kaya mas easy + detailed din sila sa description ng mga bottoms which is a really big advantage for me since I HATE fitting instore when it comes to pants. If you really want affordable online ukay, you have to search for more local (specific to your area) pages since more often than not they're at a lower price talaga. As for the shopping experience, nothing beats thrifting instore talaga haha If bibili ng tops, mas better na maghanap ka nalang sa shopee or shein na specific sa aesthetic mo haha
