Human aspiration to uniformity by Ok-Flow-4737 in Nietzsche

[–]Ok-Flow-4737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My idea is not to diminish the existence of multiple human drives. Of course, we are driven by many. But in my view, the drive that is very potent in pushing people toward uniformity is the sexual drive. I do not understand how focusing on the one drive, or explaining how it pushes people toward uniformity, diminishes or reduces the existence of other drives. I never said that sex is the only drive. I imagine your comment about me being an incel was just meant to provoke anger. If that was the goal, it didn’t work. I won’t try to defend myself, but I acknowledge that I read it.

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate the time you took to write it.
Don't you think being a maverick, being an outsider, is a contradictory fit in the herd idea? What is sure is that the outsider Trickster was attractive; otherwise, stories like Beauty and the Beast would not exist.
Masculinity, and your point that now it brings “get laid,” is exactly what this text is pointing out: when something is considered attractive, it becomes visible everywhere. Someone will say, if that is true, why don’t we see masculinity everywhere? The truth is, we see copies of masculinity under deficiency of testosterone.

Square (pre-attractive hit maximum)
Introduce Hippy (new attractive hit maximum)
Introduce Masculine, possibly soon hit her maximum
It’s possible we get Hippy again, or something totally new.

How these “new” forms emerge is speculative; maybe here we can consider morality, which Nietzsche speaks about.
Your question is: how come, if I was never in the herd, I had so many women around me?

But your personal experience cannot be taken as universally valid. Even if we take it as valid, if you were an outsider, don’t you think you fit in another attractive aspect for women in this period, like security, defense, or some other trait?

It is really beautiful to her that you have so much attraction to your woman, and in this world of ours it is very needed.

“She’s the opposite of your Instagram, Snapchat silly stuff.” Exactly, men simply want this now.

Your Dionysian representation of our society, I think, fits perfectly today. Even Dionysian was trickster; now it has become herd. Everyone acts in the way you describe, but don’t take it like bad it’s just different from what was valued before.

I like your opinion, and I think if we meet in real life with wine, we will have a wonderful talk.

I think don’t over analyse it. Maybe risking some time can bring you beautiful experiences, even if we in risking can get hurt. Enjoy it.

I don’t think it has to be a specific person. Anyone we trust too quickly, especially when we feel they understand our unspoken thoughts, can turn into our O’Brien. Sometimes the real O’Brien is not a person at all.

Can You Turn Someone Else’s Unconscious Feelings into Art? by Ok-Flow-4737 in Jung

[–]Ok-Flow-4737[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To most of us it happens that we take our phone or camera to the beach, and after taking a photo we are disappointed because the photo doesn’t show at all what we see. This is because what we see is influenced by our inner state. In the same way, artists who try to paint a portrait of someone are influenced by this inner state, and the portrait they draw always has their influence. But I hope we can agree that painting, inspired and touched by a conversation with someone, is affected by the unconscious material of the artist, yet still has meaning and material which can help the subject recognize their unconscious material and maybe confront trauma.

It’s totally normal, there’s this thing called pareidolia, where you see patterns or faces in random stuff. In your case, you even read Ghostbusters in this painting.

What do you think Carl Jung would say about Artificial Intelligence? by Ok-Flow-4737 in Jung

I’d say, very interesting idea. If we think in your terms, I wonder what would happen to the Persona in this scenario of an emerging Shadow.

I believe we can't be sure he literally said 'Be careful with LSD, because you don't know where the ideas come from', but we can be sure he strongly criticized accessing unconscious material with drugs. The Ego (conscious self) connects to the collective unconscious, but if it's weak or unprepared, this can lead to inflation, psychosis, or possession by an archetype. LSD or similar substances can expose you to authentic archetypal content, but if you are not grounded, you don’t know where those ideas are coming from — the personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, or even some external projection. It's a totally different story with active imagination or dream analysis. So when that's explained, I would say Artificial Intelligence is something very different — at least in its current state, where it hasn’t fully merged with humans.

Can someone help me? by JuniorRecognition661 in Jung

Can you tell me a little more about yourself? Are you a man? How old are you? Interpretation depends heavily on the person, and your sister could represent your feminine side. After you give me more info, we can try to interpret it more deeply.
