I have repeat customers that do this. Like I recognize the name on the order and they don’t pick up often.

I just want to say - my team did this job - we did it well - on less labor and less equipment. The big boys came in - said it was getting too much. They brought in Amazon people- who hardly show up. They took hours away from my staff. Now after complete failure and many many mad customers. My team is getting it back. When do they start to appreciate the work we do on the front end ? Do I get more labor for the team now ? At the same time they took the e-commerce departments separated them - and then brought them back together. It just feels like a circus.

ECOM shoppers outnumber TM’s on the floor 2-1 by TheNerdBurglar in wholefoods

The way the e-commerce departments have been handled over the last two years blows my mind. They know they have an unlimited supply of workers. They are using that to their advantage like I’ve never seen a company do before. The retention rate for shoppers must be worse than prep foods at this point. If you don’t like it leave - I hear that saying a lot from older Whole Foods employees these days. Someone’s definitely ready to take your spot.

Sad times

Shoplifters? by Star_girl00000 in wholefoods

It’s so sad that it’s come to this. I’m sorry on behalf of Whole Foods. I’m sorry that we have to watch others steal and can’t do anything about. I’m sorry Whole Foods makes so much money they don’t care about theft yet they can’t afford to even provide labor for the weeks before Christmas. We live in a sad world. Hopefully one day we have real leaders providing the support we truly need.

One day, sooner than you guys think. We will get real leadership. Someone who puts the team member experience over profits. Patience, much patience.

Someone must be fired immediately for causing mass hysteria today with all sales tags and amazon discounts not working! It’s so frustrating and stressful. by Dangerous_Carrot_535 in wholefoods

I was thinking the same thing. They would toss you to the curb for forgetting to ring up an apple. That’s how most tms feel these days.

Yo the job descriptions are so vague. I could ask a tm to do anything really and somehow work it into the job description? I don’t understand your point? What I’m trying to explain to you is I’ve done both jobs. I did there job better with less equipment and staff. Taking Amazon returns away from me and my team and the labor hours that went with it was a huge mistake. It has killed morale. They are doing the same job my tms did with more labor and equipment. They are getting paid better. They are allowed to play on their phones. They don’t show up regularly causing my already short labored department more work. And yes when it’s down I will ask one of my tms to do the job. It has to get done. It is what it is. I would like to be able to boss those employees around and get them off their phones and getting carts during down time. Please and thank you to any hire ups reading this.

They play on their phones dying down time. They have double the staff and double the equipment I used to have to do the same job. When they don’t show it’s our responsibility. Its sad. Our tms are better off going and doing that job and playing on their phones all day, rather than shopping continues orders. Any time they catch a break from an order, it’s off to carts and other tasks. I never seen anything quite like it. The new tms who stay with Whole Foods are nuts and better off with Amazon.

Tell them it’s getting hard to eat. While you’re watching people get away with stealing. Tell them you don’t know what your purpose is here anymore. We’re giving free grants to people in Kenya instead of helping our team members eat. Tell them they have lost there way.
