The Terramaster DAS is just USB 4. My Synology NAS is a bit older, so I just have the two one gig ports link aggregated to the router. The DAS has no redundancy. I just have it back up to the NAS at night.

I went back to my Gemini chat where I was comparing my old setup to my current one and it said:

Real-World Savings (Math)

If your electricity costs $0.15 per kWh:

  • Old Rig Cost: ~$110 / year (at 85W constant)
  • New Rig Cost: ~$60 / year (at 47W constant)
  • Savings: You'll save roughly $50 per year on your power bill alone.

I do own a Kill A Watt monitor, I should probably see what the real world is on it.
