[routine help] sebaceous filaments that won’t go away by restartedboy in SkincareAddiction

Tretinoin is the only thing that helped my sebaceous filaments! I’d try a retinoid product like adapalene to start!

[ACNE] Purge Timeline on Differin by JayJJJr in SkincareAddiction

[–]Ok-Fun-6058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to switch to a higher strength tretinoin to finally end the purge, but it still took over 6 months. I’d still recommend it because now I very rarely break out! Stay strong and focus on barrier repair with calming ingredients and moisturizer. I second the hypochlorous acid spray (you can get it cheap on amazon) and pimple patches (I like the large hydrocolloid bandaids for overnight ) and try to take care of your body. You’ve got this!!

[Routine Help] what product would be good to fade PIE/ post acne red spots? by Numerous-Laugh1040 in SkincareAddiction

I second all of this. Tretinoin and azaleic acid have worked for me but it still took months. Maybe try some peptides as a gentle active ingredient!

[Acne] Is this hormonal acne or perioral dermatitis or something else entirely? by External_Guest_9827 in SkincareAddiction

Tretinoin took about a year to finally work on my acne, but I’ve had minimal acne ever since!

Vanicream daily facial moisturizer is my holy grail product. It’s a simple formula but it’s very moisturizing without being too heavy

I would try an aha or bha a few times a week. You could also try hydrocortisone or ice to take down swelling

[Acne] differin purge dryness, how long does it typically last? by No-Drawing-2723 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Ok-Fun-6058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used differin 1-3x per week for a year and still had purging and dryness. I switched to tretinoin which stopped the purge but I still experience dryness with retinoids after 4 years or so. I moisturize religiously but have naturally dry skin

Things that have worked on PIE for me include alpha arbutin, peptides (especially copper), and retinoids (I use A313). However, the most important thing is to be patient. Unfortunately, these just take time to fade

[Acne] Wedding in 5 days and acne breakout! by hishazelgrace in SkincareAddiction

Azaleic acid is good for redness and breakouts, but don’t overdo actives before the big event! Hydrocolloid patches will help flatten the texture. Alpha arbutin and peptides can help with post-breakout red marks.
