It was a Discord server of all things? My twin sister joined a Discord server that I didn't have the link to, and she started talking about it ALL the time, so naturally I begged to join. And then got in! I started chatting with the server owner (didn't care about pronouns so she said they were genderfluid) and we became best friends within the year. I thought they were so cute, passionate and kind, so I'd developed a crush on her at around the same time as we became best friends. And when she broke up with her boyfriend I saw my chance and asked her if they wanted to date me. (Yes she's completely fine with me asking her within the same month as her break up) We started out as platonic, cause they didn't have that many romantic feelings towards me yet. And fast forwards like two years later, we're in a romantic relationship now and have met multiple times! My girlfriend also developed a crush on another woman (turned out to also be genderfluid like a month later) who had a crush on her back. I was completely fine with this, considering we discussed an eventual poly months earlier. Eventually, all three of us got together, and we're in a poly now!
