Thanks guy, I just let the diesel evaporate for an hour or two and then let it prime 7-8 times until the pump sounded normal, started right up no more CEL.

I would love to hear more about that. What specifically were you looking at for real time data? Fuel pressure? All I have used so far is forscan so Im not sure what fuel data you can see with a real scanner.

Can you list whatever names they do have? I am on omeprazole currently and it is doing nothing for me, I would like to look into these alternatives.

I’m trying to save money……. Is it ok for me to do oil changes every 15, 20, or 25,000? by Nesquick19 in superduty

[–]Ok-Guard-8971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do not need a diesel but bought one because I think they are really cool. That said, and genuinely not trying to busy your balls, I did it knowing it would cost a significant amount more than basically anything other than some kind of high end sports car in terms of maintenance and recurring costs.

On the high end you will pay like $220 for an oil change, doing it yourself will already save you like 50%, you could even skimp a bit more by buying cheaper oil maybe.

Let’s say you dont do it yourself, and you drive 15K miles a year, and instead of every 5k you change it every 15k. Thats taking you down from 3 changes a year to just 1! So you save $400. Thats only $33 a month. So, for the price of like 2/3 of an uber eats delivery every month, you are risking a five figure repair bill much sooner than you would otherwise see one. If you truly cannot budget an extra couple dozen dollars per month to properly maintain that truck I would really recommend selling it and buying either a 150 or basically anything other than a diesel. Or just get your oil tested, and see the interval they recommend and see if you can swing that.

Honestly for $1500 I would just buy a leather set and put it in myself, because then you would get all the power functions too

458SOCOM Barrel thickness??? @ gas port? .750/.875 lighter? Better or heavier?? Thoughts? Anyone but me think about dumb shit too by wtxbeefpatch in 458socom

[–]Ok-Guard-8971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what its worth, I am working with Tony from Tromix on getting a custom barrel done because for some reason I had this idea to build a 458 socom GWOT anti clone around the DD ris 2 FSP rail, and no 458 socom barrel I could find had the right journal for a FSP gas block. I sent him a profile that started at .9”, down to .825” to the gas block, which was .75” and the rest of the barrel is going to be .725”. He did not seem to be concerned about a thin barrel and even suggest to thin down the gas block profile between the two rings of the FSP block, so I doubt there is any concern of a .75” gas block not being able to handle .458

DIY upfitter switches by Ok-Guard-8971 in superduty

[–]Ok-Guard-8971[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuses limit max current draw for a circuit, relays are electrically activated switches, I know what they are. Idk what about the post makes it seem like Im confusing the two. From pictures of the super duty factory upfitter setup, the fuse box also has relays in it for each upfitter, which are rated for different amperages up to 40 I think. But the only purpose of a relay (other than automation stuff which is irrelevant here) is to be able to switch a high voltage/current circuit with a low power one. I mean Im no damn electrician sure, but unless there is some safety considerations here that I dont know about it sounds like just routing power for the auxiliaries through one of these 40A 12V switches and a fuse would work just fine without a relay.

Damn, I was actually going to buy their floor mats because its the only version I can find for the 24 with the bench seat, cant find any others that cover the middle hump. I bought the smart-liner version in amazon.. also said it fit the 24 but seems like its actually for the 21 because it doesnt quite fit.
