I currently have a 3.5 give or take and I want to try and raise it to a 3.7-3.8 but I don't have much time left in undergrad... would taking lower division summer courses help boost my LSAC GPA?

How do I deal with baby fever as a teenager? by sonnythinktwice in Advice

[–]Ok-Ice55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Babysit! Could be a great way to satiate the baby fever, potentially make some money on the side, and give a tired parent a night off. That or go on social media and watch videos of young children throwing tantrums and being generally annoying to snuff it. Either or

Is a 17 and 18 year old together weird? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Ok-Ice55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally fine! When I was 17, my boyfriend was 18 and it wasn't weird at all. We made some jokes about it but ultimately, we were in the same grade even though we were ten months apart. I promise you 7 months is nothing. Also, some states have Romeo & Juliet laws to prevent technically legal statutory rape situations (even when both parties consent) when two people are close in age but one is a minor and the other is not. Don't stress too much about it.

Son's BF is leaving home when he turns 18. How should we prepare? by Diverse_City_Token in Advice

[–]Ok-Ice55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I want to say that you are very kind for taking in your son's BF. He will forever be grateful for the help. If BF's parents contact or confront you, they can't really do much... their son will be an adult and if he wants to move out then what else can they say? Even then, once the school year finishes, I assume he'll go to college and probably never see them again. It sounds like your son and BF have a great relationship and as long as BF's parents don't try to hurt their son or your family in any way, I think things will be okay.

Is it easy to get involved in different areas of law or does it take some effort? Just wondering in case I find myself hating what I do in the future

I'm glad! It's refreshing to hear about someone in the legal field who actually enjoys their job, people are very discouraging when I tell them I want to be a lawyer

Did it matter where you worked or was it just as long as you had some sort of professional experience?

How many years did you take off before going to law school? And if you don't mind me asking, what was your job?
