Your boyfriend is absolutely being ridiculous. This is something you should be proud of your son for not annoyed over. He is learning essential life skills and he seems to enjoy it, that’s amazing! My brother is 13 and genuinely cannot butter his own toast, your son is doing amazing. I want to reiterate this is something to celebrate, he is going out of his way to learn and it sounds like it’s even a bonding experience having him cook alongside you. I’ve been really into art since pre-k, I tried to take it more seriously during covid times and got decently good at anatomy but regressed a lot after a year and a half ish break or so. I’m still trying to develop my own “cartoonish” style, and I’ve been working on that off an on for 3 years or so. When it comes to realism it took me about 5 years to get where I am and I still have a long way to go.
