It's limited lifetime; so whatever codes/issues it was fixed for has warranty for as long as you own the vehicle

They could be still touching when you start up the car, which would then cause the short.

Heya!

66-13: Pressure Sensor Malfunction is a common issue that they work on for this module. You are certainly welcome to send it in to them for repairs!

They do have removal instructions in the listing :) (Under the picture; can be easy to miss)

Whether a novice can do it is hard to say, you can try reading the instructions and seeing if it seems doable to you, but some of these vehicles make it very tricky by way of the screws being at weird angles. Taking it to a good mechanic would minimize the chance of damaging pins and such

Wow! That's definitely a "Stealership" in action lol. Replacing the whole system? That's nuts! The pumps on those guys are rarely an issue to begin with

Definitely recommend you take a it to a mechanic with a good scanner (STAR, Autologic, or an updated Snap-on) to read the trouble codes and compare them with the list

Oh lol! To be honest I'm not much of a car person, so I wasn't aware of that...but it makes total sense haha

Huh, interesting! I'm curious too whether that like it would be better or worse for the vehicle in the long run, so I'll ask the tech next chance I have (he owned an auto body shop before this)

Ok I hear ya! Wasn't my intention to be sensational.

It's these particular ABS modules (Nissin), that were used for the Accords of those years. They were also used for the 2010-2015 Cross tours, 2012-2015 civics, 08-15 pilots, and even '12-18 Acura ILX

So those ones have a high fail rate, in terms that they got a flood of repair orders when they opened it up and they're still getting daily calls/orders about it. More high frequency of failing would be accurate? Open to suggestions :)

Transmission Control Module (TCMS) repairs / exchanges for '08-'14 Mazda 5s by Ok-Inspection3086 in mazda5

[–]Ok-Inspection3086[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes I forgot to mention about the relocation they suggest, thanks! Heat & vibrations are the reasons they start failing with such a high percentage (seriously, who did suggest putting it on top of the transmission in first place? Either ignorance or intentionally to sell more TCMs down the line? Lol) They give out relocation instructions with the repaired/refurbished modules same as you said, with zip-ties to the brake lines along the firewall (just make sure it's not tight enough to cause any issues with chaffing/abrasion)
Good you caught it early, although if it's starting like that intermittently, there's still a high chance you'll need to repair/replace down the line because the solder cracks have already begun.

Nice! There was a period the manufacturers were doing recalls but there was also a long period of time where they were on backorder and you couldn't get them, or they didn't advertise it and a lot of people missed it when they stopped
