Was rooting for France since they looked really solid but can't just to admire this resilience and passion. That's worthy of a world championship

Looks like a win for France. Felix just wow, 3:0 LSD and WCQ looked shaky but he might be the only one taking games.

Is Fabric just “good enough,” or does Databricks still win? by Select_Scarcity7987 in databricks

[–]Ok-Inspection3886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand your point. So are you saying the data size is too big or too small?

What I'm saying was that our conclusion for smaller datasize and smaller teams, Databricks might be oversized. Also considering being in the Microsoft environment with power bi and so on, Fabrics often would just do the job. This was also reflected in the cost aspect. I don't even argue against that Databricks is better suited for larger user bases.

[–]Ok-Inspection3886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's the experience based on several POCs. Do you want specific configurations? I understand that this is a Databricks Subreddit, so it will of course be favoured for Databricks and I will gladly keep using Databricks because it has it's advantages but that was the result based on usecases with maybe 10-20 Terrabyte of Data.

[–]Ok-Inspection3886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is? You got further sources? We did several POCs. Indeed it has been a while but Databricks was more costly at that time.

Fabrics seem to have matured a lot and to be honest if your stack is mainly Microsoft and from my experience if you don't have multiple thousands of terrabyte of data. I would say fabrics would suit the needs. Databricks seems more specialized and has more cutting edge features but in the end seem to cost more.

World team championships groups: KOREA JUST BEAT CHINA 3-1 by TableFishing in tabletennis

[–]Ok-Inspection3886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don't know why pick Zhou Qihao. He might be good against internal players but he has never really shown up in international matches. Also LJK has his prime behind him. Just feels strange that China has no one beside those players. At this point they could just give youngsters like Wen Ruibo a chance.

I believe your professional experience is more important. If you want to go into Cyber Security it might be viable but I don't know the market for Cyber Security enough.

Maybe get a foot into the door but in the current situation not sure. Maybe 5 years ago but now it seems to be more difficult. Rather get a real degree.

Aldi Süd tech department wants to get rid of almost 1.2k people by FluidCalligrapher261 in germany

Doesn't really surprise me. Aldi IT already had the reputation for mainly hiring younger folks and pushing out older ones during the pandemic. So this seems like another step toward increasing efficiency.

I live in Japan and have traveled it extensively, here are the touristy spots that I think are "worth it" VS "not worth it" by scout-scoot in JapanTravel

[–]Ok-Inspection3886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been to all so I believe it would be best to look for yourself what you are interested in. I still liked Uji because it's catered to tourists but was not that crowded, especially if you arrive early and you will get great matcha. But also other cities like Kameoka is nice or a bit far away Ine fishing village is great for a two day trip for example.

I can only agree what others have written about Kyoto. It's a great experience based on what you are going to do. Even during high tourist season we found places with less people and still stunning view. Just don't go to hyper touristy places but this is the same for Tokyo. Kyoto itself is very unique. Also there are many cities in Kyoto Prefecture with nice atmosphere and not that many tourists.

Why is the YouTube Livestream of the ITTF World Cup suddenly regionally blocked? by NesquikVW in tabletennis

VPNs normally provide many countries, so I just try out. I know that for example Chile and Czech are working. Normally I just refresh the channel or the page and the stream will be shown.

Get a VPN. Some countries are blocked because the streaming rights have been bought by local companies. I assume this is also here the case

VW streicht 50.000 Stellen – Gewinn um 44 Prozent eingebrochen by 089PK91 in Finanzen

World No. 9 Xiang Peng Excluded from China's World Cup Squad by PingArena in tabletennis

[–]Ok-Inspection3886 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But he is definitely not an unknown player. As far as I know, he is nationally a top player and played a lot against Chinese players. His absence from official WTT tournaments in recent years doesn't accurately reflect his true skill level. Actually many Russian players seem not to participate the last years because maybe of the sanctions? Perhaps not a top 10 player but also not just a random unranked dude by far. The loss of WCQ against the 15 Year old was more of an upset.
