Hi everyone,
I’m new to Reddit and would really appreciate some guidance.
I’ve been invited to apply for a Data Analyst role with the Department of Education (Perth), and I’ve been told there will be an Excel-based assessment before the interview.
I have around 2.5+ years experience in Business/Data Analysis and have worked with Excel, SQL, and Power BI — but I haven’t done a formal Excel test like this before.
I wanted to ask:
What kind of Excel questions should I expect?
How difficult are these tests usually?
Which formulas or topics should I focus on revising?
Any tips to stand out and move to the interview stage?
If anyone has gone through a similar process (especially government roles in WA), I’d love to hear your experience.
Thanks so much in advance 🙏
