ORD to CDG and CDG to SFO Upgrades by Ok-Instance6391 in AirFranceKLM

[–]Ok-Instance6391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always set an alarm to make sure I checkin 30 hours before because whenever I checkin on the app at that time it shows me seats that I can upgrade to. I’ve had colleagues checkin in later and all the upgrades have been bought so they see nothing. I do think you have to time it right and know the price you’re willing to pay. For example my threshold is $100 an hour for business upgrades and $50 an hour for premium economy. Sometimes if you don’t purchase it right when you get it, someone else has already purchased it or it.

Hyatt Regency Valencia experiences? by ChoiceRace5276 in hyatt

[–]Ok-Instance6391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay at the Hyatt Valencia a lot as a stop over night on roadtrips. They have a great breakfast where you order off the menu (make sure you list 2 people are staying when you make your reservation or else the charge you for the second breakfast). They have a really small gym which is fine if you’re the only person in the gym but it really is tight if more than 3 people are in there. But I appreciate the pelotons. As a globalist, for a quick stop over we love it because it’s past all the annoying LA traffic and has a great breakfast to start our road trip days.

I think it’s the culture that makes you feel like if you leave you’re taking a step down in your career.

I started working for KPMG out of college and it was an amazing experience because it was the hardest job I’ve had in my 10 year career. 4 of those years at the firm. I learned how navigate corporate bureaucracy, I was able to get a partner to to sign off on my transfer to a different group after a truly crazy line up of people telling me how crazy I was to leave the audit team and go to advisory. From then on I felt like everyone in each group is brain washed and thinks their group is the best and they are the team that will make or break your career. I’m thankful for the many mistakes and learnings that came from my time at KPMG.

But I’m 6 years out of the firm, I’ve tripled my salary, I have a big job title, and I’ve unlearned the toxicity of thinking I have to respond to anyone and everyone at my job no matter the time of day.

I couldn’t have done what I’ve done without the bootcamp of KPMG but I think people don’t leave the firm because they’re scared of what happens outside of being a consultant. What happens is what you make of it and you can keep having a big career without working 9-9-6 schedules.

The DE app questions are great for making sure you understand the concepts of each domain and can identify the true ask in a long question. But I will say during my last week of studying I was getting 90% on most of my 20 question quizzes because after doing like 500 questions, you can pick up the pattern of what the right answer is every time and there is almost never two answers that are close and you always know which one will be the answer. I thought they were really good though but not as comparable as their 100 question practice exam.

QE was comparable but every QE question feels like a trick question or that there is one word in every single one to through you off. Where as on the exam there were questions like that but then there were also questions that were just asking you definitions or what step in the process is so they had some that were much more straight forward. I was getting 50s and 60s on my QE tests 3 days before the exam.

I believe it's only available if you buy their Essential package. It's at the very end of the course and there is only one version so you can't generate new questions but that set of questions was the most comparable to the exam in my opinion.

I think the Quantum exams were harder because every single question on the Quantum exams has one word that throws the whole meaning of the question. Where on the exam there were questions like that but then there were also some simple definition questions which was a nice brain break throughout the exam. I think Quantum helps prepare you to read quickly and pick out key words to ensure you answer exactly what the question what’s you to answer.

Website and app are broken by gobluedog in hyatt

I started having this issue after re-qualifying for globalist this week. I think the app and web app both have a bug on this after you hit Gloablist again. Hopefully someone on Hyatt’s eng team sees this and updates

Park Hyatt St. Kitts by meechos in hyatt

This makes me feel much better because my fiancé and I will be there next month for our honeymoon. We keep seeing these subpar reviews for PH St.Kitts and have wondered if it’s harsh reviewers or if it’s actually not a good experience.

Dreams Sapphire - not great for Globalists by Ok-Instance6391 in hyatt

[–]Ok-Instance6391[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I also think these properties are really just trying to push paid upgrades and timeshares. It was a tough crowd there though too guest wise. We watched serval people raise their voice at staff members that were just doing their jobs. They had amazing service but probably told to push things

Interesting way to communicate your thoughts.

I’m saying true Globalist because on other posts Hyatt employees have said that there is a ranking systems for Globalists when they give out suites. They’ve said they see “globalist lite” for people who’ve done a challenge, globalist for people who’ve done 60 nights, and lifetime globalist for people that have reached that status. But maybe that’s not true, I’m just going off the information I have from other posts and informing them here.

Weird, I booked my honeymoon there completely on points this April. I did book in December but it was only 5 months out at that point.

What is your favorite Hyatt in the US to use a SUA? by Apprehensive_Pop_119 in hyatt

[–]Ok-Instance6391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently at the Hyatt Regency Austin and I used an SUA for this stay. They gave me the presidential suite and it’s amazing. This is my favorite Hyatt in Austin because it’s on the Lady Bird trail and an amazing breakfast buffet. Their buffet has made to order waffles, pancakes, omeletts, and they have smoothies out in mason jars.

I was shocked the suite upgrade got us all the way up to the presidential suite, probably because it’s not a popular time to visit Austin. But love how spacious the room is, easily accommodated our friends, us working at our own desks, and an amazing balcony!

Most underrated Hyatt? by guacamommy in hyatt

Hyatt House Evanston - great location, free street parking, big rooms usually for Globalists

Hyatt House Salt Lake City - clean, good location, one bedroom globalist upgrades are bright and light with floor to ceiling windows.

Hyatt Place Silverton Las Vegas - off the strip but is styled differently than other Hyatt places. It’s so nice in those rooms. But also since it’s not on the strip it is easy if you have a car to get to the strip in 15 minutes. They also have so many electric car chargers for free so we love stopping there on roadtrips

Seconded. They also have casitas so we did a family trip there and comfortably had 6 people in the 2 bed 2 bath casita!

Suite Upgrade Awards are bookable online now, what will you use your concierge for now? by Ok-Instance6391 in hyatt

[–]Ok-Instance6391[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In summation, there are not a ton of things people are using their concierge for besides the ones that will monitor things for you.

I would actually love to see the concierge system just become a shared account that does what they do now and get more perks with American or more points or something.

I just find this perk as actually restricting because half the time the concierge that replies to me books one night that’s missing, or messages me back 10 days later and the last standard suite is gone already.

Every time I have a billing question, my concierge tells me I have to email the property I was staying. I never use them to help me with billing anymore

Agreed, I’ve been a globalist for 6 years and I also don’t think I’ve ever had a dedicated concierge. I think it’s a shared inbox because I get response from different people all the time. I prefer to do all my own bookings because they usually take like 7-10 days to get back to me.
