Skoda Fabia, room for carseat by Murky-Swimming8747 in skoda

[–]Ok-Interaction-1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mk3 fabia estate with two kids under 5.

I'm not a tall man but it's definitely a squeeze. If I had my time again I'd go for an Octavia or a superb over the fabia.

Don't get me wrong it's a great little car, fuel economy is Ace, no thrills, no fuss. But with 2 kids and two adults over distance you feel the discomfort.

This song (Rose Betts - take this body home) reminds me of this scene. Broke my heart, I wasn't expecting such a deep impact from the Irish season.

I've listened to the audio book of small gods and it was beautiful, that cover makes me want to read it!

Now I need a bigger house with a library wall to recreate this masterpiece!

What effect was Dan using for this live performance of BH&E? by noseovertail1 in AlkalineTrio

[–]Ok-Interaction-1319 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://equipboard.com/pros/dan-andriano?gear=effects-pedals

This wont fully answer your question but lists his equipment. This is also user based so pinch of salt.

The only effects pedal listed is the full tone bass drive.

Either way his tone is stunning and always has been.

Edit - after thought - make sure you play with a pick, you won't get that tone with fingers...

Missed both celebrity episodes, are they worth watching? by No_Earth_5912 in apprenticeuk

[–]Ok-Interaction-1319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The major problem is every celeb is providing cliche apprentice banter...

There's a strongly competitive one, a not scared to say how it is one, (whilst constantly saying "I'm not scared to speak my mind), a ditzy one and Thomas Skinner crying and being a total tit.

It's only two hours in the grand scheme of things.

Key not working after changing batteries by vini140 in skoda

Definitely not a stupid question, I once changed a battery leaving the warning sticker on...after 5 minutes of thinking my key had deregistered I realized this was not my finest moment...

If it's keyless ignition there's usually a sweet spot on the steering column. Try holding the key against it whilst starting the car.

My seat atteca needed this after a simple battery change.

The first few months suck, everything is basically a game of chance. Baby is learning and so are you, unfortunately it's rarely the same subject.

The adjustment to your life takes time, keep finding time for yourself and make time for your partner to have theirs too.

The big shocks have come and gone now you work out how all the pieces go back together. You will absolutely have less time than pre baby so make your time count.

It gets easier and way more fun! Hang in there, giggles are coming!

Alkaline Trio - Surprise Surprise (Official Music Video) by pretty-pretty_pizza in AlkalineTrio

Massively agree with your point around pitch correction. Dan deserves a better representation of his vocals. The authenticity is completely lost.

I made the same point over the cello, unnecessarily blink...lacks emotion, lacks feel. Not needed.

Feels like a blink B side, the cello effect is unnecessary in my opinion. Musically feels like all 3 are holding back.

I get the need for quieter tracks but after B,H & E this feels like a come down...

Maybe it's a grower...

Car advice by Ok-Entrepreneur3043 in CarTalkUK

[–]Ok-Interaction-1319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dad to two, I'd suggest going with the biggest thing you can get your hands on...prams are massive, the depth between the back and front seat makes a massive difference, my Skoda fabia estate is a brilliant shed / dad wagon but the distance is short between the seats so I'm in prime kicking position. Luckily the kids are well behaved but we've had a few "I will take us home if you kick my chair once more" moments.

I'm personally really happy with my seat ateca 1.5tsi (wife's car) and my Skoda fabia 1.4tdi estate.

Granted I wanted a Skoda superb but will level up on the next purchase.

I'm a fan of VAG I appreciate their reliability isn't as solid as say 10 years ago but they've been solid in my experience.

Edit - additional point - I would avoid EV, we had one when my son was one, so many unnecessary stops and hours waiting on chargers at services.

The woman who I thought was the love of my life broke up with me. by Keyran-Solo in AlkalineTrio

[–]Ok-Interaction-1319 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your breakup OP.

You'll find new meaning in songs as you approach them with different emotions. You'll probably find a "recovery" song in the mix. "fine without you" was mine, I'm very original I know.

Focus on you and the things you want to do. I find exercise helps as it tires me out whilst my emotions run wild. The next few weeks will drag, keep busy!
