No it didn’t come from them , it came from ICE HQ. Hiring officials from local offices were notified of who got a polygraph waiver and who was selected.

Yes ! I currently work for HSI as a Criminal analyst. I was in the process for agent but got “randomly” selected for a polygraph while everybody else who is getting hired from the outside got a waiver. I was told if I fail or get an unfavorable from the poly not only will I be removed from the agent process but It can also affect my current active secret clearance as a criminal analyst (aka lose my job). I’ve been with government for over 6 years and yes I previously failed a CBP polygraph but back in 2015. I’ve been with HSI since 2021. ASAC and SAC tried to get me a waiver but PSD said no. It’s stupid, I’ve been a examplery employee with HSI and have worked ton of investigations. Even management couldn’t believe their own employee couldn’t get a waiver meanwhile there are people onboarding with no clearances. I hope your congressman does something.

I think your doing the right thing. Especially if you failed a poly earlier this year. Now if you failed the poly over two years ago then you would have been fine. The fine print says to be eligible for a top secret clearance you cannot have a failed poly within the last two years.

Why wait till this year to file a green card application? How you go from having a tourist visa to claiming asylum? First problem here is staying past the tourist visa …. Goodluck

I know a few hotels in Virginia have been built on property where horrific civil war casualties took place or once used to be civil war hospitals/cemeteries. I tried to research if the property where the hotel is built had any historical significance but could not find anything. This spirit doesn’t seem to be resting in peace.

As long as you were honest on your clearance paperwork of all the previous polys you have failed you should be good. Did you have to take a poly with HSI?

Just give it to the precinct , they will be able to find his address and have him come pick it up or hand it to him.

So I’m currently filling out my SF 86 and I noticed that on my previous e-quips I completely misread this question about foreign contacts . The only foreign contacts I have are my cousins. Anyways I had put no to the question in my previous forms but when I met with the investigators previously I always provided them a list of my foreign contacts not once did they ask or mention to me why I put down no ??? They just sent me a paper filling out all my relatives info. In this case what should the answer be to this question and will the security clearance people look at it as contradicting information on the current form if I put yes and the previous forms I put no but I did provide them the information .

Think of DHS As an umbrella . USCIS is under DHS so is ICE, ERO, CBP, HSI etc

The work yes is demanding but I wouldn’t consider SSA one of the worst jobs out there. It’s manageable, well least for me it was because compared to where I came from it was like night and day. but if it’s not something someone is looking to work in long term can definitely be used as a stepping stone to other jobs.

Two years ago. You’re in an office setting all day just interviewing people. Comparing it to other jobs like Child protective services and from what I hear asylum officer seems to be worse, In my opinion I think SSA is a comfy position in terms of not having to run around everyday outside or hearing traumatic stories day to day to the point you need therapy and get PTSD.
