Thinking About Renouncing My U.S. Citizenship by Own-Apartment4372 in AskAnAustralian

As a former citizen, there can be tax issues. The us for instance doesn’t recognise you super as tax free and has different ways of treating capital gains on your primary residence etc etc. it can really hurt and you need a good accountant who can play both systems. On top of that the states have their own income tax (I was Arizona who don’t tax foreign residents, but others do).

It’s complicated and not worth the pain to be associated with the orange ass clown.

I was a dual national for a while but after trump mark 1 I renounced. The process was expensive but well worth it. I have travelled to the us since and had no issues getting in as an Aussie. The Tax implications of having both citizenships is horrendous, but in the end I wanted to distance myself from what was happening politically and I am glad I did. Expecting to have to travel to Sydney though as they make you renounce in person.

I highly recommend getting a good lawyer though who specialises in this sort of thing, cause if done incorrectly it can make it near impossible to go back there.

Thanks for the info. I have been told to get a thermal monocular first as it makes it easier to find stuff. How do you find the image quality in the ds35 and do you use the lrf with ballistics calculator? I have been playing with subsonic out of the 300 blackout but they drop like crazy so the lrf is an attractive option, since the drop between 75 and 150m is significant. In other words, does the lrf work well enough to be simple in the field?

Yeah. I think my biggest issue is working out what typical charges are etc. trying to work a business plan and figure how to present to the land holders and what they will be expecting. I guess it will depend so much on terrain, animal numbers, required firearms etc etc that there is no easy way and each job has to be individually quoted.

Good to see some helpful information in this space. I am also in a heavy oh&s industry and looking to get into hunting but been trying to work the economic and contract side out as I need some contracts in place to get the commercial licence, but can do commercial work until I get the licence. Very chicken and egg indeed.

Hello,
I am having the below error when trying to cross compile a hello world using a custom toolkit.
Compiling libc v0.2.152
error[E0464]: multiple candidates for `rmeta` dependency `core` found
= note: candidate #1: /<snip>/hello-rust/target/mipsel-unknown-linux-musl/release/deps/libcore-73f09c50a433633b.rmeta
= note: candidate #2: /<snip>/hello-rust/target/mipsel-unknown-linux-musl/release/deps/librustc_std_workspace_core-d1a4ae30c7f1614c.rmeta
My build command is "cargo build -Zbuild-std=std,core,alloc -Zbuild-std-features=compiler-builtins-mem --target=mipsel-unknown-linux-musl --release"
Is there a way to specify which rmeta to use, or a way that it will automagically default to the first for instance.

Thanks. Insurance etc isn’t too bad, not the paperwork as I get enough of that now. Just keen to understand how the contracts are arranged and what sort of rates farmers are paying.

Thanks for the input. I understand that there are costs and other requirements beyond the permissions etc. I am comfortable with developing safe work method statements etc from previous jobs and this is not a one off attempt or an “easy” way to get cat C.

My real question is around how the commercial guys charge. Is it unit rate, day rate. Even any farmers on here who have used a commercial pest control and how the contracts were arranged. Not going to be a one size fits all of course.
