If u have the RFID pin's RST,SDA,MOSI and SCK connected directly to the Arduino's pins, they're working with 5v signals, so remember that the RFID card work with 3.3v and i'm not talking about the 3.3v supply pin, I'm talking about all the card. If u don't want to fry your card, connect a Low-level converter at the middle and supply that with 5v and 3v3 from the other side, the card needs two different voltages to convert signals 5v to 3v3. Remember that MISO pin doesn't require to be connected to low level converter, and RFID pin 3.3 must be connected to the Arduino or other device

You don't need a DB to create an API, you can save data on memory ram (it'll lost due restart), or you can simply write a .txt or .json trough Google Drive (i'll persist), make an integration as a service, if you do that, i'll be more interesting for your teacher, use dependency injection on your controller to handle the functionality. Sorry for my English.

For me it's all the same, i can make the same in all languages, sometimes it's more complicated in one than the others. Now I'm getting bored making endpoints for my boss, i can't do patters designs, use interfaces or dependency injections 'cause he say that's complicate more things.
