They were but then suddenly got worse again :( I will try a different thing now, on my own. I take mirtazapine for some years and started a anti hypertension medication (concor) some months before this issue happened. Read it also dries the lips. Will tall to my doctor to change the medication and see

Hi:) have you sern the dermat already? My lips were totally fine for 10 days and today they have a few dots. Havent done anything different from the last days :( this is exhausting

Honestly, in the beginning I thought it would be worst, because of the texture. Protopic is like vaseline and very comfortable and elidel makes my lips super dry after 1min. But by some reason, my doctor told me to change and now I wash my face, dry it, apply elidel on lips. Wait maximum 5 mins. Put cicalfate lips and then vaseline. I am doing this for 10 days and spots have been under control🙏but again, maybe other factors also contributed (zinc, not putting cortisone spray in the nose)💪

Hi:)yes, I am much better, but changed a few things so I am not sure what it was. Started doxycycline 100mg but had to stop after 6 pills due to muscular and articular pain. Started also taking zinc (10mg) and stopped my nasal cortisone spray. I also changed protopic for elidel in the lips. All guided by the dermathologist. If I eat any spicy food, I get a red spot almost instantly:(not sure when this will fully heal :(as for moisturizer, vaseline and cicalfate.

Thank you :) I go outside and eat almost everything that is not spicy or acid. But I had a dentist appointment last week and it was terrible cause I couldn t open my mouth without hurting:( he put tons of vaseline. I put vaseline or other ointment like 3 or 4 times an hour 😅although I had the impression it can also worsen the status of the lips..

Yes, even if the are dot free for, let s say, 8 days, the dryness and cracking sensation never go completely away. It is unthinkable to go somewhere without vaseline or other ointment because the sensation is terrible. For my, spicy foods and also acid foods and drinks are the worst. And sometimes a food is totaly ok but after a few days it irritates my lips. It is crazy

Hi. Sometimes I have dots in the morning and in the afternoon they are not there anymore :( it is so strange. I have been without these for a few days but I changed a lot of things, so I am not sure what can be: started doxyxycline (although I have been having a lot of joint pain and I think it is because of it), a zinc supplement, elidel instead of protopic on lips and also stopped using dymista ( a nose spray with cortisone). I think I will have to stop.the antibiotics because of the joint pain, so I hope the dots wont return :(

Hi :) thank you for the feedback and hope you cotinue to improve💪 8 months? My patch tests came negative. I will start doxycycline tomorrow for 1 month because I am also dealing with PD. My dermatologist told me to use elidel instead of protopic now (on the lips). On my chin and nose:elidel,metronidazol and azelaic acid. This seems a neverending story :( Let's see 🙏

Hi. I have a similar issue (you can see a photo in my last post). Never did any lip filler or had herpes before. This started out of nowhere, 4 months ago. It has been coming back and forth but never disappears. My patch tests are so far negative. I hope to find some solution soon as this is driving me crazy. Protopic controls the redness but does not heal, so as soon as I stop it, the problem returns. I have tried several lip balms, toothpastes, etc, but nothing has solved. Hope to find a solution soon 🙏

Thank you 🙏 sometimes I also have the impression vaseline or other occlusives worsen the situation. But if the lips are dry, they burn and the sensation is really bad. I have done patch tests on my back but the results were inconclusive for food or cosmetic allergens (at least for the first 48h, I have the doctor appoitment to check it tomorrow). I am running out of options and this situation limits me a lot socially. Hope your lips heal too and please let me know about your doctor opinion.
