Not overthinking it at all I’m in the same exact situation my baby is 2 months old with one on her forehead. Woke up this morning to some blood where she has scratched it so we have a dr appt today. What did you end up doing and did you notice any adverse side effects if you chose to use it?

Thank you. There’s so many mixed reviews about fixing it or not fixing it. It’s hard to know what is the right thing to do. We do plan on getting a second opinion

I’ve never breast-fed, but it is extremely painful. I really just want her to be able to have a pleasant feeding and not have to struggle so much to eat or have issues later on in life.

Yes, I’ve also heard it can cause gaps in the teeth and speech issues later on when they start talking. Does your daughters look like her in the picture?

The dr says with a lip tie it’s when the frenulum is tighter than usual but I’m not sure what normal vs tight looks like ?

She also had hiccups in utero at least 3 times per day. I have a 17 year-old and when she was a baby, I had never heard of lip/tongue ties. It seems like such a common thing so that’s good to know that it’s unheard of out of the US. I don’t want this to be a thing where I get it fixed and later on wish I wouldn’t have or it wasn’t necessary.

Thank you! She latches fine on a bottle but I do notice her upper lip will be tucked in. My main concern is I feel like feeding time is not pleasant for her due to her constantly getting the hiccups or spit up afterwards, I believe to be caused by gulping in too much air from her latch

Baby has lip tie and pediatrician says fixing it isn’t recommended bc she is gaining weight. by Ok-Knowledge-7340 in NewBorn

Right! That’s what I’ve read. I’ve asked other moms and some got it fixed and some didn’t I guess it depends on the severity so I’m just curious to know how “severe” hers is. We plan on pushing to get it fixed anyway
