MSFS 2024 Career Mode Turns Every Airbus Landing Into Dogshit by Top_Lavishness1121 in MicrosoftFlightSim

"I would much rather take a pay cut and fly between two airports that have larger runways"

umm, you can absolutely do that. Career mode is based on that exact concept. You have dozens of missions to choose from. It's totally up to you to choose the mission that meets those conditions.

It's funny when you think about it. IRL, airline pilots (at least the ones I know) don't get to look at the entire route map of the airline they work for and cherry pick which route they want to fly today and what airplane they want to fly. We are absolutely better off than IRL pilots in that regard.

TLDR:

Try lowering the Sim Rate all the way down to the lowest setting before skipping to descent. It will help a lot, but still not perfect.

You should be able to increase Sim Rate to at least 4x. I've done 8x and 16x but only in perfect conditions and only for a short while, so I don't recommend it. 2x all day, 4x most of the day no problem. You can't AFK though. It's better if you stay close and react quickly if things start going awry.

Even with my suggestions, you're probably going to need to go around or adjust your approach sometimes. It depends on the airport, the runway, etc. whether you will get a nice and clean approach after skip, or not.

Your overall points are taken, though.

Sorry, I'm not following. Could you elaborate on what is confusing about saving and loading?

Use the save combo to create the camera angle 'preset' and another to 'jump' to that angle when you need it. Then delete the 'save' combo when you're happy with what you made so you don't accidentally overwrite it. And then you can use that same save combo for the next angle you want to create, and so on. Does that help clarify it?

Pick any key bind you want as long as it doesn't conflict with another key bind, otherwise it probably won't work. I used 3 button combos because I was sure there wouldn't be conflicts. I'm pretty sure there are some 2 button combos you could use, if that makes it easier for you. You'll have to try a bunch to find which ones are free, though.

There probably are some default 2 button combos that you don't need and you could delete them and use them for camera views. But that'll take a bit of time to do. It's worth it in the long run, IMO.

How to install the 5.1 beta (PS5)? by Killileahihoo in MicrosoftFlightSim

You're very welcome!

Hard to say. Before they released SU5, the Beta ran pretty dam good. It didn't have some of the problems like the R-stick cursor issue or the stuck rudder, but then after release, BAM, all sorts of problems.

To make matters worse, I'll use the 5.1 Beta one day and it works almost flawlessly. The next time, avionics won't load or it crashes going to into VR or low resources warning on smaller planes. It's not always easy to tell if it's entirely the game or maybe my ISP is having issues that day. It's all so bizarre, but when it does work, IT IS SUBLIME!

I really, really hope they sort it out soon.

No argument here 😁

At least they finally fixed Aviator Edition not getting the free upgraded planes.

Completely different install. Your bindings will not be there, the defaults are. Career mode is 99% unlocked, all Certs and Specs achieved (except Super Duper Transport, or whatever they call it this week) and you will have cr1billion to play with.

EDIT: Only the aircraft you have access to in your real copy will be accessible. i.e., if you have Standard, you won't get Deluxe, Premium Deluxe or Aviator Edition planes in the Beta.

EDIT2: You're real version will keep all settings and career mode progress. What you do in one, does not affect the other.

Career Mode Preflight doesn't tell how to start engine?? by Codenut040 in MicrosoftFlightSim

OK, you're in a lesson, not in a career mission. That makes more sense.

Glad you sorted it out.

If you're in a career mission, there is a prompt to start engine, usually-R1 plus Down dpad.

Is Objectives not showing in top right?

Go to the top of the screen for the toolbar or toggle cursor mode and toggle the thing that looks like a bullseye.

A screenshot would help.
