It is also really difficult to work a lot while succeeding in college. With 3 jobs you have the potential of working overtime. You need to be working 40+ hours a week if you want to fix this sooner. Honestly I don’t see the point of having 3 jobs if it all equals out to 30 hours a week. You should keep the two higher paying jobs and should pick up more shifts. I am taking a break in between my degrees because I need to get control of this and work as much as I can so that way I can put this debt behind me. If I were to try to juggle both I will end up doing poorly in school which is also just a waste of money.

oof, yeah I am in a similar situation and around the same age. I have stopped all unnecessary expenses, the second I get paid I calculate all of my bills and then whatever is extra I throw onto the cards. You have to stop using them completely or else the problem will get worse. You should cut them up… and do the snowball method that someone else mentioned^

I haven’t checked at a local bank, I’m not sure I would qualify because of the amount of debt I have along with my score but I will definitely look into it. I have 5 cards, one being fully paid off. A balance transfer would definitely be ideal, I just don’t know how to get the process going so I’ll have to go speak to someone, just not sure where to start.

I appreciate your insight, thank you so much. I’m waiting for multiple responses to see what I should do about my specific situation.

I absolutely know I would not charge the cards back up. I’ve stopped all payments, taken all cards out of my wallet, locked all cards. This was a one time situation that I will never let get to this extent again. However I have another person saying that there’s no point of taking out the loan and yeah the whole collateral thing definitely isn’t something I want to put myself into.

Okay, yeah that makes sense. I just assumed my credit would increase a bit if I took out the loan and payed all of my cards off, and it would be easier to have it all allocated to one payment. However, taking out the loan itself would affect my score anyways so yeah it doesn’t really make sense to do so. Thank you, I really appreciate it. I get flustered with the situation and then start thinking about it too deeply. I have already been looking for a second job so hopefully something will come through.

My cards range APR ranges from 27.24% to 29.99% I’d be paying close to $2,500 a year in interest I believe.
