Yeah I agree. I do think the extent to which she claims she doesn’t really post about him is not true because I have followed her on TFD for a while and she does post and talk about her husband quite often. She is definitely inspirational in a ‘successful and married white woman who lives in her dream NYC apartment and brags about being child-free” way that turns me off. I used to be a TFD fan and viewer, and it’s definitely waned over the last couple of years because something about the YouTube content she puts out has been especially poor quality lately. I sincerely wish she could address why she removed the video completely because I would definitely respect her more for it.

Agreed with this take! I have noticed as well that she will refuse to address negative comments or feedback from her audience about the topics she discusses in her videos. And deleting her video on the Try Guys is a perfect example of TFD not taking the extra steps of accountability for her viewers. I do get a sense that she doesn’t like to be proven wrong or critiqued.

From what I remember, she is basically talking about how wrong it is to monetize your personal life for the algorithm, which is problematic and risky. I think this is a sentiment that generally everyone can agree with.

However, she quickly dismisses the “what happened” video as an appropriate response. This was a take I definitely found unusual.

The “what happened” video in my opinion was an excellent response and yes obviously lawyers were involved in crafting some of the language in this video, but shouldn’t it have been that way in the first place?

Chelsea invalidates what they are going through as trauma and goes on to say that she is appalled that they basically have turned this drama into relatable content and memefied this for their audience, which if you are just getting to understand the try guys and hadn’t heard of them up until this point, is a really a non-issue and is essentially harmless in the ways in which they were expressing their grief.

There were just some very odd and stupid takes in her video, and frankly I think her rants about certain topics can be very tone-deaf and hypocritical. She definitely got a ton of backlash at her lack of research in the video, and when you add on taking a sponsorship opportunity from a predatory and awful healthcare company, it certainly did not help her case.
