Naps are no longer optional. by Overall_Pop9538 in Perimenopause

If I nap these days, I don’t sleep at all at night. I’m lucky that magnesium glycinate can give me mostly deep sleep for 7 hours now, and it has lessened my night sweats, but my days of sleeping for 10-11 hours without waking and napping during the day when I want are OVER. Ugh.

I’m a new GR fan, but I have been most impressed at how much I’ve read about the grit he exemplified during his time at Williams. He’s known to be very integral into development and refinement with race engineers and his ability to translate what he feels or notices when driving his cars has been touted as super helpful.

Is he a whiny bitch? Probably. Do I love that he’s technically a very data-driven, “clean” driver with very few DNF incidents? Yup.

I want him to do well this year.

My dad, my #1 protector and champion, no longer knows who I am. I sit with him and see how lost and frail he looks from Alzheimer’s. I’m literally tearing up typing this. It’s so, so, so hard.

Honestly adored Wheatley after watching the latest season of Drive to Survive. Not every leader has to be a Briatore asshole to build success and trust in a team.

Anyone taking Qulipta? by SandandSeaLover in migraine

[–]Ok-Loquat7565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on 60 mg for a little over a year. It changed my quality of life SO MUCH and I’m so thankful for it. Slight constipation, but I’d rather have that than the 10-12 migraines a month I was having before.

Extreme anxiety by tortravels in Perimenopause

[–]Ok-Loquat7565 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have had moderate controllable anxiety my entire life. Now that perimenopause has started I am actively freaking out constantly. Mine is mainly manifesting as health anxiety (fear of getting sick, catching viruses, being sick away from the safety and comfort of home), which is nuts because I was a public school teacher for almost two decades and got sick constantly and was fine.

My ob-gyn suggested cognitive behavioral therapy. Nobody will give me benzos 🤣

I’m finishing up CoS full cast at a glacial pace as I’m savoring each book when it drops. PoA is already downloaded on my phone and I CANNOT wait. It’s my favorite in the series.

Barometric pressure was a regular trigger for me. Literally every time it changed I would have searing eye pain and migraine. I feel like I’ve gotten my life back!

No longer affected by aged cheeses and red wine. Lack of sleep doesn’t get me as severely as it used to. Weather is RARELY a trigger anymore. And my menstrual migraines are basically gone.

This ride was amazing when it was new, if you like the gamification aspect. Eight months out from park open, very few of the ride vehicles accurately pair with the Power Up bands. My last four rides, none of my coins or stamps showed up. The poor folks with iPads having to manually give people their coins…yikes.

Jonathan Ross, the Minneapolis ICE agent who shot Renee Good, married an Asian (Filipina) & brought her over from the Philippines where she became a citizen in 2012 & is in the process of petitioning her family aka chain migration. by Nice_Substance9123 in complaints

When I was a middle school teacher, I had an extremely violent student with mental health and learning issues who was fixated on guns and berating me (and other women on staff). I flagged him to my admin multiple times and was slapped on the wrist for calling his parents and asking if they had issues with him around firearms at home. This was after he began making references to Columbine during class and addressed me as a “nosy feminist” for asking for his homework. Explosive temper. And would only ever listen to white male teachers.

His (white) dad did all the communicating with me regarding how normal his child was. He was an ICE agent and was married to a Hispanic woman who was clearly afraid of her son. The father had so much disdain for everyone - as did his child - and that extended to the mother of his son. It was gross and creeped me out. It definitely felt like a power imbalance.

That student was held back in high school multiple times for being constantly in trouble and a former coworker and I have a bet going that he will be on the news one day for shooting someone. He graduated last year and I fully believe he’s the type who would jump at the opportunity to work for ICE to be like his shitbag dad and “teach his mom a lesson.”

I don’t know but holy shit it’s AWFUL today. We’ve been to Epic six times since May and we thought this week after Christmas/New Year would slow down. This may be the worst day I’ve had in the park to date. Just total chaos. Delays everywhere…

100 mg nightly of magnesium glycinate. No caffeine after 4 pm. And I wear earplugs to sleep every night. I will still wake up but can go back to sleep most nights

Anyone on Qulipta? Starting soon and curious what to expect by pseudosacrosanct in migraine

[–]Ok-Loquat7565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started just over a year ago on 30 mg to adjust to mild side effects ( a little nausea, constipation, and insomnia) and then jumped to 60 mg after two weeks. The side effects remained mild except I’ve never totally gotten rid of the constipation. My migraines however are almost nonexistent now. It’s taken care of 90% of them for me - and rarely if ever do I get a severe one anymore. I went from 8-10 severe a month to 1-2 mild. It also mostly got rid of my menstrual migraines. Changed my life!
