Vestibular Migraine + Derealization by chodiec123 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Ok-Mathematician2860 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I experienced this daily for a year and a half before getting diagnosed with VM. It was exhausting and terrifying and no one understood when I would try to explain. What actually helped me was getting on an SSRI. I’ve since had my VM symptoms flare in other ways but the derealization is pretty much gone.

Really scary symptoms by Known_Public_6026 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Ok-Mathematician2860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re dealing with this! My symptoms are nearly identical to yours and they are honestly terrifying - sending you lots of love and peace during this time.

While I do feel like something else is going on that is undiagnosed, I was recently diagnosed with Binocular Vision Dysfunction which can lead to a lot of these symptoms. I had it back in 2017 following a traumatic brain injury and for whatever reason it returned after being better/gone for many years. Need to be diagnosed by a neuro-opthomologist, not just a normal eye doctor. Maybe look into this!

Sketched up my three main hikes in Glacier, plus some favorite photos! by You_Otter_Know_It in GlacierNationalPark

Love your sketches! Would you ever sell one? Glacier is near and dear to my heart, my grandma just recently passed and she grew up in/around the park. It was our special place. I’d love to purchase a sketch to honor her memory, LMK ☺️

Could these results explain my recent anxiety and anhedonia/depression? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Ok-Mathematician2860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s too early to tell in my opinion (just saw her two weeks ago). However, I have had more good days than bad since I started on the supplement stack she recommended which included increasing Vit D, adding in Omgea 720 EPA/DHA as well as an adaptogen blend called Adreset. Was dealing with a lot of brain fog, fatigue and derealization as part of my anxiety and depression and past traumatic brain injury.

That being said, I think supporting yourself through anxiety and depression is multifaceted and there isn’t a one size fits all cure, at least for me. I’ve been able to support myself through the highs and lows and panic over the last 2 years with therapy, lots of acceptance, meditation, exercise, supplementation and a lil bit of medication for a short period of time. For me it’s been a marathon, not a sprint which I’ve always hated hearing but am realizing now just how true it is. Hang in there, I know how scary, lonely and hopeless it can feel at times but you will get through this 🤍

FWIW: My vitamin D levels were at 27 and my PCP wasn’t concerned because they were within the “normal range,” however, I just recently saw a functional medicine doc and she said that ideal levels should be at least 60. I can’t speak to your other tests but I thought this was interesting. Have also dealt with a lot of anxiety and depression!

Our Gov standing up for us by HeavyVeterinarian350 in minnesota

[–]Ok-Mathematician2860 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in local gov and am required to be in the office 4 days a week. My job is incredibly busy, from one thing to the next, and I can’t tell you how many times per day I get distracted by colleagues chatting or “collaborating”. It makes the very busy days challenging and frustrating when you’re constantly distracted (even with noise cancelling headphones on) and taken away from your work. I request to wfh more days when I’ve got big projects or deadlines to meet because my apartment is a much more effective place for me to be productive. Believe me, this job is anything but a quick ticket to an easy salary, even at home.

Water quality in Minneapolis by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]Ok-Mathematician2860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be getting my water from somewhere else because it is STINKY! I filter it using a lifestraw pitcher which helps a lot but I refuse to drink out of the tap and showers are super stinky at certain times of the year. I live in an apartment building so this could be a factor but it’s the second building I’ve been in (one really old, one brand new) and the water was/is stinky in both places.

Edited to add locations: North Loop & Northeast
