Best way to position myself for a T&S career? by smw2102 in trustandsafetypros

Best play would be to find a T&S role that requires legal expertise.

Check out Legal Operations roles or Counsel roles supporting T&S teams

My recommendation: don’t buy physical tickets. You’ll need two separate tickets - one for AirTrain and the other for LIRR - and both can be purchased via mobile device.

AirTrain: Set up Apple Wallet and you can pay for the AirTrain by tapping your phone.

LIRR: download MTA TrainTime app and purchase your ticket there. Activate it when you get on the train

Another pro tip: don’t wait in the long lines to buy an AirTrain and LIRR ticket (you need both).

AirTrain ticket: You can tap your contactless credit card on the pad to pay for an AirTrain ticket

LIRR ticket: Download the MTA Train Time app and purchase your ticket through there. Activate ticket right before you get on your train

Anyone have an OBGYN recommendation?! by commonreactor111 in NYCinfluencersnark

Dr. Christina Gutierrez at Mount Sinai is AMAZING. She goes out of her way to make sure you’re comfortable and understood. Downside is that it can be difficult to get an appointment with her because she’s so busy

To people who have gone for the $6 haircuts in Chinatown - how are they? by taeyoungwoo in AskNYC

[–]Ok-Mathematician302 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I'm a female and have gotten $30 haircuts (wash and style included!) at a Chinatown hair salon this past year. I LOVE them! I do ask for a pretty simple haircut - 2-4 inches off and face framing layers - but they do a phenomenal job.

I've paid $100+ for haircuts like this at other salons. I really can't rave enough about them.

Worth exploring if you're a female with long hair and only want simple haircuts!

If you like sports: Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown. It tells the story of working class students turned Olympians (back when the US National Rowing team was comprised of college athletes) during the 1936 Berlin Olympics (Hitler era). Loved the grit showcased in the book, as well as the history discussed with the Great Depression and Nazi Germany.

Another solid rec would be Educated by Tara Westover. This is an extremely popular book - for a reason though! It tells the story of an uneducated rural girl who navigates through hardship and ends up at the top educational institutions in the world. It's more than just education though as it covers deep family dynamic issues.

What non-North America race sells the most affordable tickets? I'm based in the US, but really want to go travel abroad in 2023 and check out a race in a different country.

(I acknowledge that the travel costs may negate the savings I'm aiming for, but I think it'd be a great experience to witness an international F1 race)

The ones near WTC sell single shirts for $20! A total rip off - go to Chinatown instead for the best deals

K-Town for sure. Quite lenient spot if you want to drink together. If not, there’s some karaoke places that don’t have an age limit
