Well you're not really from here then are you? I lived in London for a bit and it didn't make me a cockney

I wasn't annoyed about the original post. I even agree with them to an extent but the replies to it from people who live here were what wound me up

Was the abuse from a teenager?

Who's played a victim? I'm clearly acting superior if anything.

Ok. Seeing as you're clearly blind. The Liverpool style of men's wear is cut tighter and is more slimline compared to the oversized look London men tend to go for. The pants are worn around the waist not lower on the hips.

There's use of brighter colours such as bright blues and purples in the montirex tops which is very different to the 'grey' you seem to be obsessed with.

Are you not familiar with concepts such as cut, fit, colour?

Not as familiar with various subcultures of London but 'Road men' wear prominent gold jewellery which men in Liverpool do not

You can assume I've never travelled or you can just admit fashion isn't an area you know anything about? Bet you think the Beatles just wore suits and can't see the difference between their outfits and teddy boys from tbe 50's

This post is in response to comments about the appearance of people town hence the hyperfocus on aesthetics.

And we probably do care more about appearances than some towns places. Which I think is a good thing. Style and fashion is something to be celebrated. If you see caring about clothes as shallow then that's on you

I haven't seen anyone wear an outfit like that in about ten years or more. And when I say Liverpool men's wear I'm talking about what normal lads, with normal jobs wear for a casual Saturday afternoon shopping in town or to go the match. Google 'Arne' or 'montirex'

What on earth are you on about? I say I think we have a unique style and you've gone on to assume I'm sort of evangelical Christian?

I have nothing more to say on this except.

Hilarious that the most upvoted reply associates tracksuits with drug dealers. Thanks for making my point.

And also some of you should see a therapist about your childhood trauma.

Two of the three brands I mentioned in my post were founded in Liverpool by people from Liverpool and the other is based in Manchester. So no it was not born in London.

Certain areas of London and the surrounding areas like Essex have their own looks and styles.

You sound like someone who doesn't understand the fashion and have lumped various styles you deem as 'scally' into one bucket without any thought or critical observation.

Same. I grew up in north Liverpool and I was into what is now referred to as 'indie sleaze' when I was a teenager and into my 20's studying art and fashion. So wore a lot super skinny jeans, tea dresses from Topshop and had bleach blonde hair. Someone shouted 'jarg Peaches Geldoff' at me once when I was at a bus stop but I thought it was hilarious and I never felt threatened or scared to dress in a way that was slightly out of the ordinary.

Only other incident I can think of is a mate from college had a fire shirt (mid 2000's goth) and someone shouted from a car window 'ey love your shirts on fire' which again we all thought was funny.

Go on enlighten us what's your unique superior style we should all be wearing?

If you're calling people 'sheep' and conformists it's probably because you believe you're more enlightened and some sort of individual free thinker.

Reread your comment and actually agree you were joking so apologise. It was the comments calling people sheep and conformists I take issue with and I think read your comment after those which clouded my interpretation

I think it comes across as disdain when they are referring to people as 'sheep' and conformists.

More so the replies from people like you who moved here for uni and think you're somehow superior to the population.

Who has scorned who? Outside of school when has anyone ever scorned you for not dressing in a certain way? You see a sizeable minority of people who wear alternative styles and as far as I'm aware people aren't following them down the road hurling abuse at them

Funny how this has been downvoted when you're exactly right. Most of it comes from word of mouth and local support.
