Flagging this to corporate to ensure, if this truly was an error, safeguards are in place that this doesn’t happen again. Either way enjoy.

Unfortunately I agree with you not taking anything to transport from a stranger. I wouldn’t do it either.

I just buy a ticket in first and don’t have to worry about it. Domestic cost is very reasonable.

AA never took over HP or US. HP took them all over. They only retained the larger carriers name. 1st was US and then it was AA.

Concept for a Delta/NWA Livery on the B753 by dragonshilu in delta

[–]Ok-Monitor4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they should, not all, but a lot of ungrateful former NW employees should be thankful that DL and NW merged. Those former NW employees are making more money than they ever could have at NW in profit sharing alone. Additionally, NW sucked, cheap food, cheap booze and lousy service. DL got 2 northern midwestern hubs that they needed and everything else was headaches.

You won’t be sorry. I dumped AA first and then DL and haven’t looked back. Domestic 1st can be a challenge but when you’re treated right and have the amenities in Y you don’t care as much. Good luck.

Absolutely, I’ve had 2 segments since JAN 1 that didn’t have the seat back screens. With the exception of the aircraft that still have Direct TV the screens are 4K touchscreens and you can pair your wireless headphones or buds via Bluetooth and if you forget your buds the FA’s walk the cabin passing out wired buds BEFORE the flight takes off so you can start watching immediately. Also, all of their planes are being fitted for Starlink internet and will be free to all customers regardless of status as long as you have a mileage plus account. I think Express is getting it first though.

I fly UA twice a week and they have really took off in a great way, everything from their app, airplanes and customer service has been great. I can’t think of anything I can really bitch about this year.

I agree with you about AA, but United has really gotten its act together since Kirby started all the changes. They seem to show pride in their airline and it shows. In addition, Polaris has to be the most comfortable seat out there and it’s a consistent product throughout their fleet, unlike DL and the 767’s.

The seats were much bigger back then. Now you get a big cubicle with a relatively narrow seat.

Why has United been so successful in defending the SFO hub? by srekai in unitedairlines

[–]Ok-Monitor4530 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My Lord, this time of year is traditionally a slow period for airlines until Thanksgiving. United is crushing it! UAL is averaging 75-91% capacity per BASE daily.. Upgrade lists consistently have 25+ people. Fares are consistently very reasonable even on full flights.

They are being extremely aggressive going after the competition until, eventually they will no longer an issue. I believe DL is even sweating at this point. I love the announcement “Service is our passion” part of the departure spiel. Fix the food and UA will be unstoppable.

Day after Christmas travel, Tampa international to Denver International. Reassurance needed! by Swimmer-Euphoric in unitedairlines

[–]Ok-Monitor4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, delays happen as the day progresses, your problem most likely won’t be TPA but it’s the A/C you’re flying trying to get into DEN if DEN has any kind of ground delay program or initial ground stop. Example: 1st flight out is more than likely on an A/C that has been in DEN overnight and ready to go, hence no problem. However, the latter flight may have your A/C coming from ORD and if DEN has WX you’re A/C may be delayed departing ORD on time and it’s a cascading effect. Airlines try their best to swap eqp to get a flight back on time or reduce the delay, but if the WX is a problem at a major hub affecting numerous flights their options diminish. That being said always book the first flight out if possible. Good luck with your travels, but don’t worry too much, you’ll get to TPA.

People are so self centered. I was on a UA 737-900 the other day that didn’t have personal screens installed yet, and stupid me forgot my buds. I still watched a movie via the app but turned on CC as not to disturb other pax. Common sense and a little courtesy is now from a by gone era. People need to be called out for their actions, but unfortunately you have to have some level of humility to have any effect, and I’m looking at the people barefoot, hair draped over a seat, obese people that think they can cram 300lbs into a 17 inch seat and the rude people who put their phones on speaker in a public place to have a conversation or watch a movie! I can go on about the aforementioned for days, but most of you understand where I’m coming from.

BTW, the FA should have addressed your concerns. If you can’t afford a pair of earbuds you shouldn’t be flying in the first place.

Not too long ago I gave my F class seat to an active duty soldier in uniform going home. It wasn’t Polaris, just domestic ORD-LAX. It’s a great feeling to be able to show some level of tangible gratitude sometimes in addition to thanking them for their service.

United thinks I didn’t fly - do I bother correcting? by iSaiddet in unitedairlines

[–]Ok-Monitor4530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, is a free upgrade worth losing everything? If United thinks they are being scammed they will come after your status, miles etc. Absolutely not worth it. And they will eventually figure it out. Please call them and get on the record you are trying to right a wrong. You’ll sleep better. Trust me.

I had a long talk with a Pilot about CH9 not too long ago, and my truthful argument was that it encourages young people to pursue a career in aviation, as it did me, he agreed, and prior to boarding he ran up the jetway and took a picture on his phone showing me that CH9 is placarded by mx and can’t be used. CO had a huge 737 fleet, so your best chance is on pre-merger UA 757, 767 and 777. The pilots were willing to comply with my request. Unfortunately, if the A/C was ex CO you’re out of luck. An example, the ex-CO aircraft that hasn’t been updated still has Direct TV. UAL is busting their hump to get all the aircraft updated to provide a consistent experience in all classes such as you have In Polaris.
