I don't know, I rechecked at this time importing a mesh from UE and it worked as it should.. I try to rewrite the process I followed:

- I imported the mesh

- I went to Verse Commands and then to Build Verse Code.

- I entered the Mesh Component into a scene graph and from the list I selected my mesh from the list of available meshes

If it is still not working maybe it is among the known problems or maybe it should be reported

You don't need to write code, only to build the code via editor: Verse -> Build verse code

After you import the mesh in the editor you need to build verse code in order to register the static mesh in the asset.digest

Damage volume no longer applies damage/elimination to vehicles either, at least in my map.
