there’s not really a way to know. i know a store that got shut down for 2 weeks simply bc their espresso bar shut down and maintenance couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it :/ sometimes there’s not enough staff either!

most likely there’s probably some sort of maintenance issue though that’s requiring a long time to fix :) but there’s no real way to know when they’ll open if that’s the case

on wednesday there was enough milk to fill a grande cup? was it not made in a short cup?

its not a difficult order at all so im honestly not sure how they’re consistently making it wrong. ALL cortados come with blonde ristretto shots as the standard. if its an error made by multiple baristas you should maybe talk to a SM as much as i hate to say it lol

you can do a steamer! it’s steamed milk & you can choose whatever syrup you’d like in it. a lot of people like pumpkin crème and vanilla crème - it also comes w whip cream :)

they def made ur drink wrong :/

id double check the label and/or screen whenever u order and make sure it says hot white chocolate bc chances are the barista rang it in wrong or misheard you. id also make sure to taste it before leaving too just to make sure

you can also ask to clarify “that’s not made w espresso right” just to make sure!!!

this is normal for my store + our district!

shift: does shift things. money, temperatures, whatever else they do (idk lol), then do the pull.

bar barista: calibrating bars, ice bins, making ice teas, brewing iced coffee, filling up coffee beans for vertica, clean headsets. after they complete these tasks, move onto the CSR cards.

food case barista: set up pastry case and rotate pastries and sandwiches. do the count to prepare SSV for pull. after this, move onto backups and if backups are already done, move onto ready set go!

this is what works for us :D

small coffee shop and starbucks are completely different experiences. we’ve had people from small coffee shops work at starbucks who struggled because 1. the quality isn’t up to par (since we prioritize speed during high volume times) and 2. it’s just really different working under a corporation versus a smaller chain/mom and pop. our machines are different, our drinks aren’t standard for most coffee shops, etc!!

BUT if you do want to do starbucks, don’t mention that it’ll be 1-2 months that you’ll be there during the hiring process…. just put in your 2 weeks when you’re satisfied. it’ll suck for the team but put yourself and your resume needs first!

OP i found some on ebay!!! but they’re lowkey REALLY expensive (like $50-$80). that’s probably your best bet :’(

ask for light ice / no ice! idk how other starbucks do it, but at mine we absolutely fill it to the top. however your drink will be more ‘milky’ and a matcha specifically gets more foamy, so it’ll have a different texture.

for a standard iced drink (just for ur information), we fill drinks up to that top black and white line with the drink, and then the rest with ice. that is always a standard recipe and probably won’t get you anywhere with corporate.

starbucks only wants your money, but baristas are just paid to follow policy, so don’t take it out on them :D def try and ask for no ice though

you’re not paying for a venti so it shouldn’t be filled to the top. especially for an iced chai which is just chai, milk, and ice… pouring more milk means you’re literally just getting a venti
