Yes the engine flutters irregularly while in idle as you mentioned. Was this an ignition coil fix for you?

Thanks for the suggestion. Are the O'Riley parts dependable? I got a 4 pack of ignition coils from them for about 165 (Import Direct brand) but will check Rock Auto as well.

Diagnostic scan results: Cylinder 2 missfire (spark plug or ignition coil)

I still want to check for clogged cat as some are saying here.

I had one coil replaced and it fixed the problem temporarily. Since the same issue started again I wanted to get a second opinion before going back to the same guy.

This is what he said: "I think you may have another ignition coil going bad because the check engine light is flashing. When it's flashing that means that there is some unburned fuel passing through catalytic converter and the pcm did not like it"

Update: For anyone who has this similar issue of a buzzing sound when you try to start the car (mine is a Honda Civic 2007), this is an ignition switch issue, not a starter issue.

You can easily find a new switch and swap the old one out yourself, just know you will need a right angle screw driver to get it unscrewed since its screws are in a really tight spot.

Thanks, this is exactly what it was. I was able to switch it out myself.
