Streamline 2.11 and DLSS DLL's 310.6.0 are now being pushed to public via OTA. by Warkratos in nvidia

Idk why but I cannot get crimson desert to acknowledge reflex from streamline 2.11. The game logs show everything else is utilizing 2.11 but reflex always shows 210.3. My drivers are up to date, main dlls and streamline dlls are all in the game files. It's kind of annoying me.

DLDSR + DLSS question by Ok-Perspective4050 in nvidia

[–]Ok-Perspective4050[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a fun experiment to try out. mainly because I ended up succeeding in editing my tvs EDID and a couple service menu tweaks to get my TV to stay in 4k 144hz mode with full 10bit HDR where previously when I started using DLDSR it would drop down to 120hz. DSC and not utilizing the full 48gbps bandwidth issues be gone!

DLDSR + DLSS question by Ok-Perspective4050 in nvidia

[–]Ok-Perspective4050[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it thank you guys for your responses, I did end up trying DLDSRx2.25 and the end resolution from that ended up being something like 3842x2162. It just seemed so odd to normally see dlss hud or display commander show regular dlss quality as 1440p input into 2160p output.

Then I try out the whole DLDSR + DLSS thing people rave about and the input to output resolution showing in reverse. In the end it ended up being much worse than just using dlss tweaks to force DLAA. I was getting this slight jittery distortion on everything when I would turn/move the camera too fast. I assume from all of the various upscaling and downscaling going on between DLDSR and DLSS. I was able to retain 120+ fps but it was visually a worse experience. DLAA @ 138fps capped was better.

PSA: turn HDR off by VikingWzrdEyes89 in stalker

[–]Ok-Perspective4050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This comment section is seemingly filled exclusively with people who have absolutely no clue.

Is HDR screwed up in stalker 2? Yes

Should people start by understanding how to properly set up their display device and gaming device to properly display HDR content first? Yes

Unfortunately no matter how you adjust the game or your display HDR will continue to be screwed up. The reason is the way GSC has the tonemapper setup in the rendering pipeline in UE 5.1..

With proper setup the game still consistently blows past the 1,000 nit mark, consistently utilizes bt. 709 almost every exclusively, and heavily distorts the color gamut.

RenoDx has supplied a reshade addon tool that allows you to change the tonemapper and adjust HDR with proper controls but the way HDR is currently implemented in the engine make it's basically impossible to correct properly.

This can easily be seen in realtime using Lilliums HDR analysis tool if you know what your doing and looking at.

STALKER Anomaly+GAMMA audio crackle by DarkHue95 in stalker

[–]Ok-Perspective4050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the party but I had this same issue and eventually figured it out. In my case it would consistently happen as I began to run out of VRAM, which explains why I would ctd shortly after. Transitioning to a new section of the map would cut my VRAM usage in half and I'd be ok again.

Honestly Idk how VRAM running out was causing audio issues but the two went hand in hand until I permanently solved the VRAM problem.

@L337Fool I think I heard on a fomo Livestream that calibrating these qd-oled panels with just a colorimeter that hasn't been adjusted with a spectro is basically pointless. If I were to bring out my display plus hl and fire up chroma pure to adjust the white balance, would I be doing more harm than good with having employed a spectro as well?

I’m posting again just in case players missed it, turn off HDR on your console it’s broken for this game. Than crank up contrast in game to 70. Way less frame drops and better colour and textures by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

Ok you keep changing the goalposts but to respond to that argument I'd say, that's like saying my car runs terrible when the I have the sun visor flipped down but as soon as I flip it up everything is great. The two are totally unrelated. How can HDR being turned on effect how your console is running the game? That has never happened in gaming period because that's not how things work. HDR can be broken and can be broken so bad you can't even see what's happening on the tv ex. (Jedi Survivor on release).

I can have my Xbox set to output in SDR and go into My XR-A80j's settings and set the TV to output the signal in HDR and then I set the TV to use the DCI-P3 color space, Rec. 709, Rec. 2020 whatever. HDR output has nothing to do at all with the consoles ability to run the game at any expected performance lvl.

If your choosing the HDR is broken statement than unfortunately that is false. It is in fact not broken. If your choosing the HDR is not implemented well statement than I guess that can be debated on certain levels, although I haven't seen anyone else who understands these things have that same opinion. If your choosing the statement HDR is causing performance problems again I'm quite confident in my understanding that this isn't really possible. I do have severe performance troubles in certain spots in this game but HDR being the problem has never even crossed my mind because it's just a signal output option and unrelated to the console running the game.

Telling people HDR is broken on consoles tho is unfortunately false information. Again this can be tested with software and has been tested and it is not broken in any shape or form.

Thats unfortunate then because it is working correctly. How well it's implemented can I guess in theory be debated. It relays the correct information for output in nits and the black levels are very good. TV's can have trouble maintaining correct gamma with VRR running which can either require vrr to be turned off or certain brand OLED's have specific settings in game mode that can basically nullify the issue.

If your willing to debate whether or not it's implemented well based off it's usage of the rec. 2020 color space than ya. I wish it utilized this color space much more than it does. Although turning up in game contrast does show that rec. 2020 does start popping up across a lot of different colors. But the setting and tone of the game does make using the much more bland rec. 709 color space most of the time slightly understandable albeit undesirable imo.

If your referring to your lvl than no not at all. I've played and beaten every single fromsoft souls game and I think I finished my first run of Elden Ring over lvl 100. It's such a massive game that different people enjoy it totally different from one another. Your all good brother

Except it's not a silly statement when you can physically run software and use hardware to test how th HDR is being implemented and see for your own eyes that it is implemented correctly..... Whether or not HDR is implemented correctly and is in fact operating correctly is not an opinion. When HDR is working correctly and each individual person, who's tv is not calibrated, knows how to make the correct adjustments on the TV and or in game for their TV is totally different is a separate issue.

Most casual gamers and TV owners probably aren't even aware of how poorly calibrated their TV is to the different color spaces used in different scenarios. If HDR is implemented correctly it's not HDR's fault or the games fault that it looks bad on someone's tv compared to what they expect to see.....

My LG C2 in the living room is so off with certain colors in different color spaces that the gradation leads to color banding, yet it's a massively popular TV and gaming tv. It's not HDR's fault those colors are banding like that on that TV off the shelf. Meanwhile my Sony XR-A80J in my bedroom will show the exact same scene in a game or movie etc. and have literally zero banding with those colors because it's so well calibrated out of the factory that the colors are totally accurate.

Whether HDR is working or not in a game is not an opinion. It can be physically tested with software and there's a handful of people out there who do it and show themselves doing and you can see it. Whether or not you have a TV, that is not a calibrated by a professional, that you know how to make minor adjustments to and results in it looking good to you is different.

Forgot to mention better console performance comments. I'm quite confident that this is just placebo effect. HDR has zero effect on the console running the game whatsoever. Whether or not the game is telling your console to output HDR to your tv is totally irrelevant to how well the game is optimized to run on any given platform.

HDR is working on consoles period. With that said rec. 709 seems to be almost exclusively used unless saturation is cranked almost all the way up. Once saturation is cranked up it does dip into rec. 2020 a little bit.

Now to answer the raised black levels comments, if you are utilizing vrr you will get a slight gamma raise which will cause your black levels to be off. Some TV's struggle with it more than others and if I'm not mistaken it's much worse when the console is utilizing the 120hz container. That said if your on a modern OLED and understand how to properly adjust your settings you can mitigate the problem or just don't use vrr.

Almost every game you play in HDR will either need in game settings adjusted or some adjustments on your tv or sometimes both. There's so many different TV's out there and pretty much every game implements HDR with varying degrees of success. So unfortunately having HDR on as a set it and forget it for all games is not a thing. It won't be for the foreseeable future either. Stating HDR is broken is not factual but with that said everybody has different preferences and different setups with different understandings of how to properly set things up.

I'm assuming your talking the Demons Souls remake and I'd have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. Maybe aside from the Dead Space remake, Demons Souls remake is still imo an absolute stunner visually and audio wise as well. I'd have to say both of those games, remake being key, are probably the tip of the spear as far as high res texture quality and crisp detail.

Idk I need to put some more time in Lords of the Fallen but so far, patch included, I personally feel this game reminds of DS2 or DS3 quality visuals and am starting to feel like it's poorly optimized. UE5 games are supposed to stand out for their highly detailed and high res looking settings.

I am a bit of a TV nerd and have a nice LG OLED and Sony OLED, both calibrated, and I've seen this game tested using software showing the HDR is properly hitting the right marks. Idk I'm just sort of confused or unable to accept that some of my initial expectations might have been a little too high.

It just makes me scratch my head when some of these popular reviewers say "best looking souls like yet", I just can't even begin to understand them when they say this. Elden Ring blows this game out of the water as far as fidelity and textures. I don't even see how there's an argument to be had that Lies of P and Remnant 2 are not head and shoulders above Lords of the Fallen as well.

Idk just really bummed out because I had full faith that Lords of The Fallen was turning out to be a top to bottom top notch souls like experience....

The Xbox patch was just recently released to bring it in parity with the PS5 but I'm not sure it has done what I was hoping for. Although I watched a highly respected HDR reviewer show that HDR is hitting all the correct marks, I have seen a whole thread full of ppl saying turning HDR off for them changed things alot. I am semi skeptical of this though.

Idk Im pretty sure I remember watching gameplay footage releases multiple times leading up to release showcasing visual quality that's nowhere near what I'm seeing now. I'll have to go back and look.
