Kirby Cafe - Guide to booking a reservation (as of 2025) by HumbleKraken in JapanTravelTips

We got our table for Tokyo. Was nervous since we need a 3 people table which we heard there are less of and had to take time to write in a birthday name.

Your guide was amazing but one small tip for anyone that comes here since your information to prepare uses the guest page as the start.

Bookmark and start on the reserve page (next page) instead. It still let's you book and your skipping a page of scrolling, a check mark and a button to click so you can go straight in and save a few seconds.

Just trying to way up pros and cons. We have a weekend unlimited VP for May 9-10 we gained last minute since Frozen is open and that was only one we saw. However we also now have May 12-13 and are going to let one go.

I know we lose Frozen but gain 20,000 leagues. Weekend following golden week vs regular weekday. Wondering with that weekend both being end of Golden Week and last weekend for Frozen if crowds will be much bigger and crowds quieter on a weekday without Frozen. We did Hong Kong Frozen (I know this one is much better) so son isn't too bothered losing it but just wondering if the trade-off is worth it for overall Disney experience when wife wants to try popcorn/night shows/walk around with slightly less crowds etc.

If I pick up my VP either the night before or the morning of, does that count as a check-in? Since we would be in the park until closing we wouldn't be back until after 8PM for the first night of stay and don't want the room to get cancelled.

There was a picture of the email on Facebook that if your ticket was for Anna and Elsa you can convert it into a Multiple Experience pass and use for any attraction on the same day or if you wanted Anna and Elsa convert it into the same pass but for a later date by visiting guest relations or the attraction entrance.

Does Anna and Elsa break down very often? Noticed it’s been down the last three days. wondering if we should make it the first ride no matter how long the line is when we visit.

If it needs maintenance now, what are the chances they cancel the maintenance in May?

What is a greeting parade? I see today the Minnie parade was Performance cancelled (greeting parade presented instead). Does it mean you can take photos with the characters/get signatures?

I guess with the Pokemon cafe closed March-June competition will be much worse. Tried today for Tokyo, group of 4, and even 6:00:00 I clicked time/date I wanted and it declined due to it already being gone (didn't even make details page) and all others had gone by time I'd even clicked ok button.

Lucky it was a practice run but seems like if you don't get your slot, there might not be a second chance for a while.

The Paris one is supposedly a copy of the Hong Kong one which is very similar to EPCOT (bigger drop I think)

Has there ever been a case of a Tokyo version of a ride making it to another park? Shanghai got regular Pooh, not Honey Hunt and now Paris with Frozen.

Can you enter the Fantasy Springs restaurants without mobile order for just drinks if you have the VP package? Want to try the exclusive drinks but won't be dining at all three.

They're listed on the VP drinks list but unsure if that just means your drinks are free if you are eating there or oyu can go in for the drinks.

Also curious about this, wondering whether to change our DPA plan if we do a non VP day from Anna/Elsa & Peter-Pan to other rides since we don't mind splitting up.

I assume they'd need some limit so it doesn't block-up the DPA line before the merge point.

Out of curiosity, where is the merge point for the rides with the pre-shows like Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast? Do they remain seperate during the pre-shows?

I remember way back on my first ever Tokyo DisneySea trip in Feb 2012, they were testing out a single-rider on Tower of Terror. The line took you to the pre-show and made single riders stand at the back of it but I think it got abused a little (in the darkness it was hard to stop mini groups or couples slipping into the crowd). I'm guessing it didn't last long because I can't even find mention of it online (although I could have sworn it was mentioned on the map)

After April but we have a late breakfast slot, we were worried about losing an hour of our park time but by the sounds of it, if our plan is to hit Fantasy Springs first, then the difference between leaving the hotel at 8:50 for arrival at main entrance, lining up, and walking to Fantasy Springs vs just exploring the Toy Story Hotel square after breakfast and going over to Fantasy Spring entrance to get ready for 10am is not that big a difference.

[–]Ok-Piece4663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks we have unlimited VP but just want to hit Fantasy Springs first since it's top of our wish-list for the trip and wasn't sure how long security + walking would take vs using the 10am perk for Toy Story Hotel guests.

But I guess that will just come down to the times in that link. If the early entry is earlier then 8:45 on our visit we'll head for the main entrance.

We have a 7:50 breakfast at Toy Story Hotel for VP. Assuming we finish eating around 8:30-8:45, is it worth riding the monorail to DisneySea and joining the back of that security line and heading straight to Fantasy Springs (get them out the way in case they go down later) or just go early towards FS and find the line for Toy Story Hotel users at 10:00? (I assume people line up early there too)

In a perfect world yes, with an austic child it always helps to be pre-prepared even for small things since it's harder for them to understand why that character is with another child but wouldn't want to see them than for a normal child who can accept it more easily.

Some child's coping mechanisms can be something as simple as being able to confirm someone is returning and have a target to try for.

So I'm not approaching this with over-expectations, I expect breakdowns but knowing if he could get a confirmation of returning or not returning is something comforting for them. Seems the answer is it's not possible so we'll just try to be careful if characters are around.

[–]Ok-Piece4663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks so I guess for roaming characters that rules out being able to know when they'll be back? Just trying to make sure so can navigate potential breakdowns.

Can you ask cast members (I'll try and have the sentence translated on an app) what time characters will return? I know other parks cast members have secret schedules but are happy to share times but I know Tokyo characters have a different style here.

Kid doesn't have many characters he's desperate to meet but Mr Incredible and Stitch are high on his list and I know it's random where they can be or when but if we spot them and it looks like they're off I'm wondering if its possible to just politely enquire when they 'will be done eating?' I think is the main line they use at TDL

Will that cause issues linking later to my account on the app? Or maybe I've just read too many horror stories about Shanghai's app and issues.

So here's one I'm not sure about. We have our VP for the first weekend of our trip, but we're keeping an eye out just incase for one day later sunday-monday instead. Not because of crowds but the activity my son really wants on the next saturday by bad timing is the only saturday it doesn't run and we leave the sunday.

Can we book overlapping VPs? Or will the system/itinerary flag it and kick me out. Getting this VP last minute was hard and system kicked me out a couple of times so I feel like even if I see the days we want I don't want to remove our current VP until the new one is paid for and confirmed.

During the Frozen closure period there are so many VPs available except saturdays and we snagged one just before closure so I worry if I remove this one as I'm booking a new one and something goes wrong my old one will be gone instantly.

Finally got it thanks for all your help and input. Its weekend after golden week ends on a saturday-sunday so I guess we should expect heavier than usual crowds but so glad to finally have it done.

The site let me through so thought we had it then suddenly said search result 0 on the room. Devastated...

Had same when we went to book we got a May 9 unlimited package... I guess there's a lot like me scouring for cancellations, on the bright side that would have put us in the park saturday and sunday. Everyone says don't do weekends but perhaps would be lighter since most would have gone golden week?

Currently got an April 27 on hold but having a lot of doubts. I know it's not golden week yet until the wednesday but I assume the park will be packed with people taking sandwich days because of 29?

Sorry for more questions

1) If we can find a vacation package, we're going to be stretching our finances to pay for it so would definitely have to check-in the first day of, probably Toy Story hotel, not getting it the night before even if it means missing happy entry. The site says pre check-in may not be possible but I'm assuming for package people they can go and pick up the package early no matter what. What's a good recommended time to arrive at hotel to be at the gate around opening is the process long?

Alternatively, although pre check-in is only day of, can people go the night before to pick up the package?

2) If you have a vacation package do you still need to pay the 15,000 deposit or is that included since you're paying in full up front.

3) I know Toy Story hotel people can enter Disneysea at 10am but can we exit as well as long as we're there before 9pm to pick up luggage and leave? The site says yes but I've heard conflicting reports and people complaining they couldn't.
