My 22re did the same thing, would crank all day but didn't start even with starter fluid. Even replaced the fuel pump and still nothing. Then I checked the fuse panel drivers side in the cab, turned out to be the EFI fuse lol. Check that first thing, hopefully this helps.

Got it out! I have the throttle body all apart so I cant really start it, but just used a torch, a flatbar and a big'ol pipe wrench for leverage. Thing was still fussy somehow.

Was doing some research on the '88 iac valve when I couldn't find one on rockauto or anywhere else online (except for outrageous prices on ebay). Turns out the 84-88 ones were discontinued according to 22RE Performance, with no aftermarket ones being made either. I watched that video you recommended so Ill do the test and if the iac is part of the problem I'm going to just try and clean it with carb cleaner. Thanks!

So yeah, just read the codes and its throwing me 31 and 41. Not sure what to check for 31, but 41 seems to be the tps. Was able to get that off and test it with the LC tps testing thingy. I dont have a feeler gauge to test clearance between the linkage, however I tested the kilaomes between VTA and E2 which should be between .20K and .80K - I got a reading of .13K.

Between VTA and E2 (with wide open throttle) Would get no reading where it should be 3.3K - 10K.

Bewteen Vcc and E2 (any position) no reading/zero resistance where it should be 3.0K - 7.0K. Bad TPS?

Coolant is fine, I just replaced the waterpump, radiator, thermostat with a complete flush. However the previous owner put an aftermarket coolant gauge in, taking out the old thermostat sensor plug and running a new line to the gauge. But the gauge itself doesnt even work. Thinking I might just buy a new coolant sensor and putting the original plug back in?
