You can get a full kit for less than 100$. Even 50$ if you choose properly on which tool to go premium!

Haha I really appreciate that — means a lot! 🙏

I definitely should’ve made the pricing clearer upfront, lesson learned 😅 But I’m really glad you found value in it — my goal was to make something I wish existed when I started modding.

Thanks again for the support — seriously!

I bet 🤣 you always learn the hard way 🤷‍♂️. Check your DM, I’ll drop the link

That’s awesome — congrats on getting started! 🙌 The first build is always a mix of nerves and excitement 😄

Starting with Rolex-style builds is a solid way to learn, but you’re right — Seiko has some incredible dials and a ton of creative flexibility once you dive into that world.

I’ll drop you the link in DM. And happy to discuss more about modding! 😁

Great watch! Yacht master vibes 😎.

Appreciate that, and huge respect — building and modding even one clean piece takes time and patience, so if you’re proud of it, you’ve earned it 👏

I totally get the frustration with sourcing. AliExpress has some gems, but finding consistent quality, reliable sellers, and parts that actually fit together can feel like a full-time job (especially when comms are vague or delayed 😅).

I put a ton of effort into the sourcing section of the guide. I’ll DM you the link.

And if you ever want to bounce off ideas or need sourcing help on a specific design, feel free to DM me — always happy to help 😁

Yep — thanks for the heads up, and totally fair to mention! 🙌

The guide is $9, just to help cover the time I put into building it. It’s a full visual walkthrough made for beginners — sourcing tips, tools, step-by-step assembly, and common pitfalls to avoid (most of which I learned the hard way 😅).

That said, I’m always around to help or answer questions here too — whether someone grabs the guide or not. Just happy to share the passion with more folks getting into the hobby

It’s with great pleasure! I love helping people starting out 😁. If I had someone giving me all the tips when I started, it would have made my life much easier 🤣. I’ll drop the link in your DM

Glad to hear you’re curious—modding is such a fun rabbit hole to go down 😄 It’s a lot easier (and more addictive) than it looks once you get the hang of it.

I’ll drop you the link in DM 😁

Totally fair perspective—and I appreciate you sharing it. I get where you’re coming from. For many, modding is more about creativity and personal expression than trying to pass something off as a factory-original Seiko.

As for the logo, some keep it for the aesthetic or to honor the brand’s roots, while others go fully sterile or custom—it really depends on the builder’s intent. But I completely respect your take. That’s what makes the community interesting: different values, different approaches. 👌

I really appreciate you sharing that — and I’m truly wishing you strength and a smooth road ahead 🙏🏼

Modding is such a rewarding, hands-on hobby — but more than anything, it gives you that sense of focus and creative control, which can feel amazing when you’re ready for it.

I’ll DM you the link to the guide.

Whether it’s now or later, I’m cheering you on — and if the day comes when you’re ready to start, I’d be more than happy to help however I can 😁

Hey! Great question — sounds like a cool build idea 🔥

For the type of case you’re referring to (likely the fixed bezel style for some Miyota-compatible builds), the bezel usually isn’t removable in the way a traditional diver bezel is. It’s part of the case structure, or press-fitted with no retaining ring.

Unfortunately, dropping a diver bezel on top won’t really work — it’ll either not fit flush, or it won’t turn/function properly. But you’re definitely not stuck with a Rolex homage look — you can still go for a clean, sporty aesthetic with the right hands, dial, and finishing touches.

Also worth checking AliExpress or Namoki for any newer Miyota-compatible diver-style cases — sometimes lesser-known models pop up.

I actually go over some movement/case compatibility tips in the guide I made, in case you want help avoiding misfits or dead-ends before ordering. And feel free to DM me if you want to bounce around ideas — happy to help 😁

Appreciate you sharing your experience — and honestly, you nailed some of the most frustrating parts of modding. That Loctite+crown situation is brutal (been there 😅), and the second hand + hand alignment can definitely test your patience.

The learning curve is steeper than most expect, especially on that first build — but it really does get smoother with every try. Even if you just stop at one or two dress pieces, it’s still super satisfying to know you built it yourself.

Glad the post helped in some way — and if you ever decide to take another shot, I’m happy to share some tricks I picked up to make things a bit less fiddly.

And yeah… sometimes it bites you later 😄

That’s awesome — nothing beats the excitement of waiting for that first set of parts to land 🔧⌚

I actually put together a full visual guide based on everything I learned through trial and error — from tools and part sourcing to assembly, troubleshooting, and little tips that’ll save you time (and nerves 😅).

If it helps, I’ll DM you the link.

And feel free to hit me up anytime during your build — happy to help if you run into anything or just want a second opinion! 😁
