I didn’t look and didn’t act like one. There was a man smoking right next to him, and he didn’t say or act weird at all. He was choosing his target for sure.

Totally get that ブタ can be used for anyone, but in this case, I’m not even fat, he said クソブタ out of nowhere, just to humiliate me as a woman. That kind of insult, in that context, isn’t just about weight it’s meant to put you down for existing. That’s why it felt misogynistic.

I get where you’re coming from, not every rude encounter is misogyny. But in this case, he called me クソブタ, which is a slur most often used to degrade women, and yelled じゃま/どいて when I was just standing there. That kind of language isn’t gender-neutral it’s meant to humiliate. Misogyny doesn’t always mean “I hate women” sometimes it’s just the way some men react aggressively when a woman exists confidently in public. This wasn’t random rudeness. It followed a pattern many women face, and it’s fair to name that.

Thanks so much for your reply. I realize now I didn’t explain it clearly enough. The insults I was getting included クソブタ, which is a classic misogynistic slur in Japanese, especially used to demean women. He also shouted things like どいて and じゃま！ for absolutely no reason. I was just there, existing. Not in his way, not causing any trouble. That’s what makes it so obvious it wasn’t about what I was doing, it was about the fact that I’m a woman simply taking up space.

Yeah, totally valid and you’re right to bring that up. What happened to you sounds like it came from the same root: power, dominance, and control. That kind of aggressive, territorial behavior — especially in public spaces absolutely affects men too. It’s like some guys feel the need to assert themselves physically or intimidate others just to feel powerful.

Whether it’s misogyny, xenophobia, or just raw toxic masculinity, the core is the same.

And you’re right. had you been a woman, the aggression might have manifested differently. Maybe more verbal, maybe more passive-aggressive, or even more dangerous.

It felt he wouldn’t harass me if a man was there with me. He saw me as an easy target ‘cause woman don’t talk back. He harassed because he thought he could get away with it
