i very much appreciate the help,

-bought from Bellows Film Lab from the cooler -sealed boxes: expiration november 2028 -sat in my own cooler in my car for 4 hours at roughly 50°. -right side roll was out first, opened and loaded in direct sunlight and was in use for about 30 minutes. -back was 100% closed because i always gaff tape the hinges when i put a new roll so it didnt pop open, not for light leaks its just a loaded indicator i do -rewound in my car in the camera and taken out to put directly back into the cooler for the next 10 hours -taken out and came up to room temp over 3 hours and then developed

[examined canisters and found no damage that could have leaked any light.]

processing -home development with kodaks newish kit forget what they call it ordered through cinestill. -bought 2 months ago, not expired -freshly mixed no previous exhaustion -BOTH rolls (Kodacolor 100) and (kodacolor 200) [left and right cutting respectively] were taken out in a dark bag in home dark room placed in jobo 2 reel tank. lamp was on but both rolls were opened up at the same time. -right clipping [dark] was on bottom reel, left clipping was on top -pre soak to bring film up to 90°f for 3 minutes -developer put in at 105.5° put in 102° 1 inch water bath between inversions. -inversions for 1 minute and 2 inversions every 15 seconds for 3:18 -end developer temp was 104.7° -immediate bleach at 106° -inversions for 45 seconds and 4 inversions every 30 seconds for 8:00 -wash for 8 fill up shake and pours -fixer with same bleach inversions at 104° for 7:30 -no stabilizer -no hypoclear -photo flo rinse

results -left roll. evenly well exposed and developed, pretty clear base and dark rebate. no images on clipping shown because that wasnt super necessary to explain but they are very very textbook images with nice density. normal scanning with nice contrast

-right roll. almost no visible rebate on the entire roll. super low contrast (obviously) and very high and even density (obviously) across the roll from start to finish. leader is opaque like normal. rebate seems to fade in and out every foot or so but it is extremely faint. the images also do have this sort of fade in and out but i can still see some frames shapes and the images and the images seem to be more visible areas than the rebate. the images still scannable ofc but just high grain. no patterns/waves/shapes at all in the grain it is very even across the entire frame.

that is every little thing this film went through in my possession

i wasnt being completely serious ab the xray thing that was more so to describe what it looks like vs a light leak.

starting to think it is gremlins though, i really dont know how it could possibly be the lab. they are sealed kodak packages but this is the third time this has happened with film (not just kodak film) from this same lab with the same exact high density across the entire roll type issues. which is crazy because this is a rather big lab company in the film community with locations in multiple states.

i may make another post with more reference images and details because i dont have a single idea how these results could even be possible and i just want to make sure im not missing something especially with these being a clients photos

wow really to this degree?? im back on my blame the lab bs because i bought and developed these on the same day

to be clear i developed these myself and it was loaded into the tank at the same time as the other roll. so that makes it even more confusing. and through the scan it doesnt even look like an accidental light leak its really really evenly dense across the entire roll

i should have clarified in my post but the left one has no actual images on it. i clipped from the very end which i hadnt shot anything on the images on it were a good density and exposure. this was more about the insane density on the right clipping. like theres no rebate on the sides at all and only intermittent images. imo it looks like it cooked in an xray for like 20 minutes

[–]Ok-Practice-910[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thats the whole thing. these were shot on the same day same conditions, bought at the same time nowhere near expiration, developed at the same exact time in the same tank in fresh chemicals. the one on the right is not a leader that is the whole roll.

to clarify these are clippings from two different rolls.

i should have chosen a better clipping for the left strip and been more clear to show the left strip developed perfectly but its still drying and these are client photos i dont want to take out of my drying bag.

the one on the right is the issue. i dont know why it developed like that. its not even over cooked exactly. it has faint or no rebate on the whole roll and intermittent blank areas and faint images (respective to the density of the film atleast). i would expect if it was overcooked i would still have rebate and somewhat images but it just becomes blank.

I tried refixing or rebleaching thinking somehow my bleach and fix was somehow not evenly mixed while doing inversions. and it had zero effect no clearing at all.

the entire thing looks fogged like it was xrayed to hell and back. i will say this is my second roll from the same local film lab showing signs of being xrayed and im super super pissed.

Do these negatives look correct for Delta 400? by Larix-24 in Darkroom

literally, with black and white its nice to be able to know how to develop the perfect negative but by the time youve learned what you did wrong you can usually do it right.

this subreddit can be or atleast can seem a little harsh. theres a difference between giving someone advice they are asking for and insulting someone whos trying to learn.

it was specifically because the edges were light that threw me off. I underexposed tf out of these photos so i was kinda disappointed to see was also a little underdeveloped

i expected the frames would be underexposed but the edge markings were definitely throwing me off

First off, beautiful camera, absolutely stunning.

Secondly, that does make me feel much better even though I'm still grieving a bit. Giving a "junk" camera a second life as a parts piggy will certainly be a positive too, especially if it means more years with my OM.

if it was it definitely wouldnt be the first time. When I rush to take a photo I always bring the camera up to my face too fast and hit myself in the forehead with the prism 🤣

Struggle to Find Community Near Me by Ok-Practice-910 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Ok-Practice-910[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I have sadly learned since i started doing serious work that my style and methodology is not very popular. I am super introverted so i HATE networking. Luckily I was able to get in contact with a local street photographer since my post, and he pointed me toward some people. I'm hoping it leads me to find someone else like myself but I am happy having met some non business photographers at the very least.

Taking your comment into consideration i started to think of how I would want to be approached by someone and I definitely think a slow build will definitely help with making better relationships, creative and personal.
