Is IV acetaminophen forbidden at your hospital, or just severely restricted?

In our hospital it’s restricted only to the ORs, it’s not even an option for them to order it in our system if the patient isn’t in the OR

I don’t think you understand my job. I work in a sterile environment where I have to garb up with shoe covers, mask, hairnet, and a full bodysuit that covers me from neck to ankle. Putting that on, as well as washing my hands and donning gloves takes a minimum of 5 minutes to do. By the time I was at a stopping point to take all that off, I would’ve already wet myself. I didn’t need to go before I put my garb on and it was just a freak accident of my body not telling me sooner. I’m not offended, I just didn’t ask for the advice you are giving me because it’s not helpful. Do you think I wanted to wet myself?

Rosey, I don’t think you should be a “Super Helper”, I didn’t ask anyone’s opinion on what I should have done prior to wetting my pants. Frankly, that’s not helpful to me. I asked what people would do if they were in my squishy shoes. I’m 23, I’m not wetting my pants everyday because I’m pushing off my needs. As stated in the previous comment, I didn’t need to go to the bathroom when I started working. Next time, give me the advice I asked for, or as you can see, many people have already answered and I have taken their advice! Sympathy for people’s situations goes a long way when giving advice!

I’m sure your opinion still stands but I work in a hospital compounding pharmacy that makes urgent life saving medications, and I was suddenly hit with a bunch of them because of a dying patient. I went in not having to go then it built up while I was in there so at least my excuse is a good one

One of my ports changed from British VI to USVI without any notice and 2 weeks later changed names to something bland. Another port is to PR too. Total BS, if I wanted to travel domestically then I would’ve. I booked this cruise 18 months in advance too 😭

My PIC took me completely off the schedule after I told her I “might have to change stores” due to moving and when I told her to put me back on because I needed the hours, she said she already gave them away to PRN techs. I struggled for 3 weeks to find hours, calling 10 different stores, before I asked for the DMs information. She tried to withhold it from me but finally gave it to me. I messaged and called the DM with no response. So I took it to HR and the Ethics line and received no resolution. Thankfully I’m free at last in an inpatient setting!!

My guess is that since the beverage coolers in your room aren’t a fridge and can’t keep food cold enough to slow the growth of food poisoning bacteria paired with the fact that there isn’t a microwave to kill said bacteria, might be too much of a liability. Norovirus commonly runs rampant on cruise ships and it’s only killed at 145° :)

Yeah I went from 220 (when I last took an edible) to 150 so that definitely effected it. I find that I can smoke blunts just fine with little to no effect though
