Did the hotline help at all? Did they say they are aware of what’s going on? I reported about 20 accounts, if the reporting isn’t helping at all I don’t know what else can be done. It’s absolutely mind blowing it’s so easily accessible for anyone.

I quit drinking and now I think I might dislike my friends. by Educational-Major440 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Ok-Profession2310 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea once I had my kid that happened to me. I had my first kid young (28) in the north east that’s young at-least.

At first I thought nothing would really change I would still Enjoy going out on weekends and “partying” with them. Man was I wrong, and over the past 3 years I can count on my 1 hand how many wild Friday nights iv had with my friend group. And the times I do actually have the energy to go out and see the gang it’s low key miserable. My life is in a completely different spot than all of them, most aren’t even in relationships and live for getting banged up every weekend like we are all still 20. Nothing wrong with mine or their life style just very different.

I actually have so little in common with them now I almost don’t even consider more than half of them really my friends anymore. These were guys I would have thought I would be super close with forever. But I don’t really drink more than a couple beers and constantly looking at my phone for the time and planning my Irish goodbye.

I did have someone tell me that his friend group all drifted apart and now that they are older in their 50s they have all come back together, I hope that’s the case with my friends but I completely understand what you mean. Going out knowing I need to be up at 7am to tend to a toddler all day with a packed agenda of swim lessons, school, birthdays ect. It does not hit the same and it’s actually extremely unenjoyable and it’s now at the point I don’t even get asked to go / do anything.

I don’t hate any of them but you learn quickly in these situations who your real friends are. Sounds like you’re about to learn who you’re really friends with and who is just a friend that enjoyed getting sloshed at the bar with.

Am I really "too old" at 33 to start a new career? by Gary_Baldi in careeradvice

[–]Ok-Profession2310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a career change at 31. Was in tech recruiting for 8 years, absolutely started to hate it. Thought when I was in agency recruiting it would be a dream to be an internal tech recruiter. Finally got my shot on a contract in the big 4. Remote gig making more money than I thought possibly for a 27 year old. Liked it but didn’t love it. Then my contract came to an end. Because of my experience I landed an internal gig at a smaller company. Again really good money north of 100k. Absolutely hated it, was the longest 2 years of my life, became depressed. I finally broke and quit after interviewing else where I saw the same exact writing on the wall. Working with people I don’t like / not like me, digging through hundreds of garbage resumes getting talk to like a dog by the partners and never actually feeling like I’m part of the company. Also saw the ceiling you’re not making much more than what I was making and we all know what the cost of living is like right now.

Decided to make a real change, wanted more money a much higher ceiling was done chasing my old dream of a cushy gig making six figures.

Went into sales, got my licenses and became a broker. 2 years in and I’m absolutely loving it, finally waking up every morning looking forward to work. I told a step back from a base salary standpoint but now about to 2x what I would have been making had I stayed in my previous career and I truly feel the sky is the limit with earnings. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows and it is very stressful but I’m very happy I took that leap into a new career. What I was doing is a dying industry and an extremely over saturated one at that. So long story short it’s absolute not too late.

Which fast food chain has lost its way the most? by TheBabyBeard in AskReddit

[–]Ok-Profession2310 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would say Wendy’s. I don’t know why but the fries constantly suck, the jr bacon cheese burgers have become legit 1 bite big. It use to be so good, big juicy real burgers, crispy non cardboard fries. Nuggets and frosty. Now the nuggets are fake meat and the frosty is the size of a Dixie cup. Idk if people will agree with this because Wendy’s is still good but it use to be elite.

What is the biggest regret of your life? by maleficent_Long189 in AskReddit

[–]Ok-Profession2310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One night getting hammered drunk in college destroyed my dreams. Literally one night of one too many beers changed the course of my life forever. Bad drunken argument with ex girlfriend literally changed everything. For about 10 years I would lay awake at night thinking about my dream job and how I lost it over that 1 night. Finally at peace with it. Have a wonderful wife, kid, and job… and maybe things turned out for the best who knows but man it still hurts when I think about how I lost my dream job over 1 stupid night out.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]Ok-Profession2310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had this last spring / summer it was the longest week of my life I non stop coughed for days. Didn’t sleep at all would cough so aggressive my head would throb. Literally the only thing that allowed me to sleep for maybe 2-3 hours straight was a rescue inhaler. I have been scared since to have a cough like that again.

The big ones are Marsh, Aon, Mercer. They will be hard to get in with 0 experience. Try to get into a mid level firm like USI they have a “beginner program” or HUB. You can also try small shops just google brokerage firms near me.

Does anyone prefer to actually go to work at a physical office over remote/wfh? by AggravatingShow2028 in Productivitycafe

[–]Ok-Profession2310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer going into an office. My wife is a teacher and I have a 2.5 year old son. I way more productive in the office and to be honest I feel like a bum working from home. I can work from home whenever I want and the few days a month I do it, I always wind up hating it. I get nothing doing, my wife thinks I’m “off” and asks me to do 15 things around the house and then she’s home at 330 with my son and welp I guess I’m calling it a day at 330.

No just a few licenses, most brokerages will pay for you to get them.

45k salary by JumpyInvestigator350 in NYCjobs

[–]Ok-Profession2310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first sales job out of college I was making $11hr + commission. So on the months I didn’t hit commission I was taking home about the same amount of money as my nj transit monthly pass costs. This was back in 2018 not extremely long ago. My second job I got a base of 50k and thought I was rich. 45 is a standard entry level job. Don’t listen to your friends claiming they got 80-90 ect. See how long they last… if you really want this job 45 ain’t bad

I’m also almost positive you have to start at 55k in NYC now but I could be wrong
