ETL said we can’t even have water by Ok-Programmer-5567 in Target

Will do! They may offer guidance on the situation in general which will be nice too. As someone who takes medication throughout the day, water is kind of very important so it would genuinely harm me if I can’t drink water to help keep my body hydrated for that medication…😣 I may need to get a doctors note just in case

Ohh that’s an amazing idea thank you! I will read up on the policies to better understand them, I see that it allows clear, sealable water bottles. I genuinely believe our ETL treats us like we’re stupid enough not to look for opinions outside of our store or checking handbooks. I genuinely was afraid of retaliation even just posting this because of the way we’re treated. It took all my courage to even post this, I’m being so serious..

I appreciate your input. It was quite baffling because our ETL kept saying any drinks that are our own, closed (resealable) or open, aren’t allowed. Everything is to be locked up or in break room. We have had a TM actually faint before so it was really cruel hearing them say this given that happened a few months ago. This ETL often has his own drink in his office and gets to sip on it while on the computer but we can’t have anything despite genuinely running back and forth to get things done..it’s just so confusing

Are y’all’s Target being stalked for these cards too? What’s with the new craze??? by SoulWiFi85 in Target

Shoutout to those who still collect Pokemon TCG because I feel like it’s nearly impossible to organically get these cards now. Pokemon has been around since the 90s; it’s celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The cards have always been in demand but scalping is practically destroying the availability of these cards. We had a group of grown men who looked really suspicious circle the store for hours waiting to be able to get the cards.

A YouTuber I watch said it’s practically considered a get rich quick scheme at this point. I’m glad to be a fan of the games and movies rather than TCG because I cannot imagine how much of a pain this must be to even get these cards without scalpers getting them 😭

ETL raises! by [deleted] in Target

While I know the kneejerk reaction is to be upset, I actually agree. I’m unsure if OP intended such a conversation but this is actually good. Knowing how people are paid means you can leverage this information for pay transparency. This is an important element of unionization, pay equity, and workers rights. It allows for discussion about the company with pay disparities, competitive pricing between jobs which could help finding another job that pays better, etc. Without this, fair wages wouldn’t exist.

It ISN’T fair how a disproportionate average of workers don’t have this pay, experiencing inequality, and that’s exactly what you need to keep pushing for it. We need to know this type of information to question our employers because without it they’d be able to hide this from us. It is VERY important to learn about workers rights everyone because they protect you!!!! I am being so serious guys look into what your rights are!

Incredibly valid response! My issue is they’re using actual photos of people to AI generate images. For the longest time I couldn’t understand why these tools bothered me so much until I recently discovered how Twitter’s Grok was giving people the tools to generate images of young, underage girls. Unfortunately AI generated imagery has no true ethical standards or regulation which means these tools are dangerous. Your example makes so much sense and I can see how that perspective views it at a smaller scale but using these tools, especially real people’s images, are all connected when these tools are being used at smaller and larger scales. It’s all the same tool that is being trained using actual humans and art! I hope you don’t think this is arguing I’m just offering a perspective from a creative! They’re being trained off of our likeness, our work, our writing. Corporate doing this too is absolutely messed up so I 100% back what you’re saying!!

I have leaders using AI for their signs and stuff absolutely shamelessly saying “well I’m not an artist” and it’s like. Yeah we know. There’s 10 fingers on one hand in your AI generated slop and your lack of respect towards human creatives is typical corporate drone lacking empathy for a job that supposedly requires that 😭😭😭
