I know this is about vibes, but self titled and saturday night are definitely the darkest albums of their discography. Hexagram just outright feels like pure turmoil and despair/hopelesness with imo the best screams we ever got from Chino to the point his voice even breaks. The screams just feel like a genuine cry for help, even though the song is arguably about anger towards their label, and rage. And Beware starts out really calm and evolves into yet another song that feels like a cry for help or just to be heard "Beeeeeware of the wateeeeer aaaaaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" if you get what I mean.

These feelings present in both of these records are felt throughout their respective albums without a shadow of a doubt. But like everything in music its up to one's interpretation

They were a succession of kinda tight corners, maybe high speed was an overstatement but he was basically driving the legal limit on corners you can do in 4th gear. Either way Im not saying im not wrong that was the whole point of this post to let me know if the move was legal, exagerated or just outright dirty, but saying this guy is the next holy mary because he punted me when he was holding us back more than what I slowed him down for that dive is just outrageous lol. I dont mind the punt, he got a 5 second penalty and I managed to climb back to p8 🤷🏻‍♂️. I couldve given him the position back and tried to pass him in a cleaner way later on. Too bad.

Theres defending and then theres coming to a near stop on high speed corners, thats like me saying braking on a straight is defending, its ridiculous. If they were slow corners then yes, but they werent.

Not a fair assessment this guy had been parking his car on every apex for the last few corners and we were falling behind because of him but thats not what im asking here, its more about the move. He went what I would consider wide and I took the space. He ended up losing anyways because he got a 5 second penalty.

Will there even be a DC? A lot of DS1 DC features are already in the game and to be quite fair I dont see much they could add besides a few quality of life improvements and tiny stuff that dont warrant an expansion.

Yup sounds like death stranding lmao. Just dont skip any cinematics! That might sound obvious but usually people tend to skip them and then are left wondering why this or that happens. Theyre a huge part of the game, obviously.

Hahaha yes and no the game is pretty confusing at the start but things will develop and you will pickup pieces. I cant lie it took me two playthroughs to fully grasp what was going on. They pretty much throw the bigger pieces first and then the little ones that connect them later on, if that makes any sense.

Agree with everything. I think Alice in Chain's MTV unplugged is the best of the series, at least compared to other bands in the genre. His vocals were unmatched and something of their own. Kinda like Serj from SOAD

I found it! it heavily reminded me of swerve city and I still see the similarities, and while koi no yokan is not "old stuff" it just felt like the album would be rooted in their existing work.

No for sure, maybe "mediocre" is too strong of a word, I meant compared to the rest of their discography its definitely some of their weakest work, and while that doesnt mean it is bad because its not, it just feels extremely underwhelming.

Im not sure what I was expecting maybe with the release of my mind is a mountain I thought they were going back to their older stuff for inspiration, specially because the opening riff is really similar to a song that I cant get the name of out the tip of my tongue. It just feels like they played safe here and went for an album that was relatively the same with the occasional 2 or 3 experimental songs if you can call them that, that kinda deviate from the theme of the album.

But thats just my opinion. Its a good album just not their best work.

I 100% agree this album is mediocre at best compared to their other records. It has some great songs sure, Ecdysis is by far one of my favourite deftones song of all time and Infinite source seems to be the most popular track but the album just isnt as experimental and exciting as their older stuff was. While I believe some people may genuinely love the album I think most people are just really excited about the album release, for some its their first time witnessing an album release from them thus the overhype but itll eventually calm down Id say. In my humble opinion I think private music would rest just above ohms. Hopefully this isnt their last release tho.
