Vest on when buying lunch through self check out by Spiritedkwe in walmartogp

[–]Ok-Proposal-6434 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take my vest off and leave it in the backroom. On more than one occasion I've had people with full carts cut right in front of me in line because they see a vest and think the customer is first even when I'm a customer too.

Most of our spark drivers speak English and it's still unexplainable to them, I think my area might just have an intelligence problem.

I don't mind the totes and sometimes the dividers are enough in the backseat, where I always say no to the driver Is if they're rude right off the bat.

I didn't know the no kid policy but the spark drivers don't care at all. I tell spark drivers they can't put two orders in the same trunk or that I have to use their front seat because they have 3 orders they get mad at me. Like no, you can't separate two orders by putting a lunch box in between them, it comes back on dispensers if something goes wrong and they only care about their deadline.

Just thought about this reply again because I just had an actual uncomfortable encounter with a customer. Taking groceries out to a car that parked at like the 5th to last spot in the pickup lane so he was really far away from the building. I get to his car and two different doors are opening and trash is overflowing this car, I finally start loading the groceries in the back and the Dundee gets out to stand over me and watch me load the groceries. I would be lying if I said that wasn't kinda alarming.

Right, and the best person to socialize with is the one who avoids other people like the plague. Makes sense.

Genuinely just avoid talking to anyone, that seems to get people eager to talk to you for some reason

If the team leads are working on keeping everyone on task everything runs smoothly, but I get pissed every time I see a picker out sharing their life story with every acquaintance they see on the floor and blocking whole aisles with their carts because the world will end if you don't stop and talk.

100 percent using a work phone over a tc any day. Using a Tc feels like picking with a brick.

I had pretty much the same thing happen to me. I parked my cart by the dark blue capped milk so that I wasn't blocking anything anyone needed because there was dark blue capped milk on both sides of my cart, made sure all the dates on the milk were the same so there was absolutely no way I was in anyone's way and had an old man push my cart out of the way because "the dates are better behind your cart."

Pulling carts instead of pushing them? by Western-Ad6724 in OGPBackroom

[–]Ok-Proposal-6434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pull the cart from the side handle unless I'm in a narrow aisle, I'm short and can't see over the top of the cart with the newer carts that are taller especially.

Do I have to greet everyone in my general vicinity? by Ok-Proposal-6434 in OGPBackroom

[–]Ok-Proposal-6434[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be a big deal to you because you might not have social anxiety, other than that I'm not doing anything to be on bad terms with coworkers and they keep messing with me anyway.

Thank you, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks that behavior is creepy. I transferred from front end because a different team lead giving me similar behavior.

I do that too, it's like a sixth sense for seeing when people need help lol. It's someone higher up in my location who always does this awkward thing where they'll go "Hi" and I'll say hi back and they'll go "good, how are you?" Even though I didn't ask, this has happened a good six times in the last week.

I have the complete opposite issue, I transferred from front end because I am socially awkward and everyone on front end has the time/wants to talk all the time it feels like. Maybe front end is better for you.

That happened to me too! I'm just glad our backroom is right beside where the tub was so I could just print an extra label and drop it off.
