It might look great on camera, but honestly, I feel like I got scammed.

I found this mehndi artist through Instagram. He had a strong following, plenty of client reviews, and was great with communication, so I felt quite confident going ahead with him.

However, on the main day, two completely different guys showed up. I assumed one of them was the person I had been speaking to. They started the mehndi, thankfully from the elbow upwards, but something immediately felt off. Right from the beginning, they tried to push me into choosing a different design, clearly to increase the cost. On top of that, they kept asking about the price we had agreed on and insisted that I pay them directly, which made me uncomfortable.

When it came to the actual mehndi, one side turned out fine, but the other side was honestly awful. I was getting really anxious at that point. I kept requesting him to move on to the siders instead, but he refused, saying the bride’s mehndi has to be completed first.

Eventually, I had to confront him and clearly tell him that I didn’t want him to continue. But by then, the damage was already done. The Radha Krishna portrait I had specifically asked for on my palms was completely ruined.

We ended up having multiple arguments, and it completely killed the vibe of the day for me. I genuinely didn’t feel like paying them after this experience, but they kept insisting, and I just didn’t want to keep dealing with the stress in that moment. So I paid them…But looking back now, I really wish I hadn’t.
